I am seriously feeling that daily in news and in internet I used to see the lay off and a lot of people are sent out of their jobs.I think the main reason is the decrease of US Economy.
Due to the outsourcing, many IT software companies like Yahoo,Microsoft, etc. are sending their workers back to home.I can't imagine what the future will bring. Many people and some of my friends lost their jobs due to recession.
I am studying in software oriented course.I am suffering that what will happen when I go for job.
Do you know about it?
Happy myloting

Here in Ireland, the rate is growing by thousands every month and companies are cutting down on expensies and companies are closing down. Restaurants, pubs, computer companies, you name it... its closing down. People are talking about recession wherever you go and it's heartbreaking to hear the stories of people that are affected. Some even loose their homes because they can't affort to pay the mortgage anymore and feed the family at the same time. I don't know when this recession were experiencing will end. I hope it will be soon.

It seems this is happening everywhere. Here in Malta many factories have been laying off people for the last 2 years. Recently one of the largest factory which employs a lot of people said it is laying off around 400. Good luck with your studies and in finding a good job.

yes we are hearing about it for some months now. it is really terrible to what the world is coming to. i am can't believe my eyes to what i am seeing to the world. seems like the world is getting into the worst situation ever since the incident of 911. i just can't imagine life with the situation worsening. hopefully the world's economist will or can come up with solution to help our world economic crisis and help us survive this problem that we are facing now.

The job lay off is happening everywhere in the world. Job lay off has just started here in the Philippines and the only company that is not doing that are call center companies here in the Philippines. They are even hiring more call center agents because they have thousands of vacant slots. Hehehe... I think the IT world won't be affected that much. Just continue what your studying right now. Who knows? when you graduate, the economic problem will be finished. Hehehehe...

I am also one of the victims. Basically I am a mechanical engineer and was working in the same field. For the huge salary they offered in the IT, i happened to leave the job and some IT course. As soon as i finished the course, the IT went down, the existing employees are continue to loos their jobs now.Nobody is turning towards the freshers. The situation is expected to change in the near May. Let us see.

A lot of people are getting laid off, that much is true, but not everyone is getting laid off. My mother still had her job. She works for the county, been working there for thirty years. I take care of a special needs child, I am not going anywhere. People who have jobs that are needed and wanted will not lose their jobs. People who have jobs that are "not considered that important" (no offense to anyone who has just lost a job, but sadly this is true), your job will be lost.

Many corporations are cutting down on hours of work and many workers are being laid off. This is something to think about. Cheers!!

Yes, you aren't dreaming.. it's really happening all over the world.. here in the Philippines, thousands of workers sent back home due to global recessions.. I never imagined that big companies would close down.. it was really unexpected.. i've been hearing sad stories of people who have lost their jobs and it breaks my heart.. i mean, most of these workers are underprivileged and they don't have extra cash/savings to support the family...
