Where do you go for discussions to reply to?

I will first go and see if my friends have started any discussions in my interest. Most of the time they do, (and I have a lot of friends) so I would first reply there. Then I would go directly to my interests and see if there are any other discussions worth replying to. What about you? Where do you go for discussions to reply to?

Most of the discussions I respond to are from my emails, I have all my friends turned on to get their discussions. When I am in mylot, if I see an interest on top of the page, I will go check it and see if there is anything I want to respond to. So, mostly I respond to my email notifications and then my interests that are new.

How many friends do you have? I would get way too many emails with over 15 pages of friends.

That is a good idea. I have just turned on notifications for some of my friends because I have a lot of friends. I should do that more often. Thanks for sharing!

I go through my notifiers first. I usually find many different discussions to respond to, and all such various topics too, from the notifiers regarding discussions started by my friends. When (and if) I get through those I then go to 'no responses' and I always find something there to respond to and that's a good deed done for another user too

That reminds me, I should turn on some notices as they are all turned off so I don't know when someone starts a discussion. I think that is a good way to respond to discussions because you get a variety of topics and you respond to and you are responding to your friends' discussions as well. Responding to a discussion with no responses is always good too because you get to state the information or opinion without possible repetitions.

I would be lost with my notifiers turned to off. It's also a domino effect. I respond to you, then you to me and then to a no response and that sets it off again and it can even snowball! I'm certainly busy today and Ican see that you are not getting much rest either!

You respond to all of your friends' discussions? How many friends do you have? I could never do that because I have over 15 pages of friends. I think I should delete some but I do not want to offend anyone's feelings. That is a very unique way to respond the fact that it works is what really matters.

usually...what i go for in participating in the discussions are the fact that i am aware or i can relate to...not those kinds that after reading it, i'll just look it on the web and walla you'll have your printed copy for the response. i want to be more realistic and i want to come up with something on my own. besides this is a forum site so it's free to say what you what..

Normally I go the same way, but every now and then, I would go to "no responses" to see if I can respond to those discussions, either newly started or nobody bother to respond for various reasons. Whenever I finished a discussion from "no responses", I have a kind of feeling similar to accomplishment. Every starter is looking for a response anyway.

I have found out that a lot of people go to discussions with no responses every now and then. I think it is good to respond there because it is better than responding to a question with a correct answer. Also, it makes sure that every discussion has a response. Thanks for sharing and happy mylotting!

That is a unique way I think because I have found out a lot of people will go to their interests. I think it is good that you and others respond to friends' discussions. I am really bad at it and so I am trying to improve that. Mylot is also one of my favorite discussions as I find many things I want to talk about. Thanks for responding and happy mylotting!

Hey snam23, how are you doing? Yes, I check the discussions "friends started" then I'll go discussions that were "recent", then I'll go to "my interests". I believe that is a good way to ifnd discussions that are interesting. Some of the discussions here are very boring or very short (or break the rules). So I'd rather just answer on topics I'm interested in and from my pals on here! Cheers Pablo

That is very true. Many are also repetitions of discussions. I think the way you described is a great way to avoid uninteresting and short discussions. Thanks for responding!

Hi,there, For me I will first check whether my friends have started a new discussion or not based on my knowledge and my understanding, actually,Most of the time I want to reply all the discussion my good friends have started ,but you know due to my ability maybe I can not since I am not a native speaker. So I am learning english hard nowadays. After this I will check some top discussion from today and choose to response according to my interest .and then see some new user's discussions ..

For a non-native speaker, your English is very good. I think you should not worry about your English when responding to discussions because if you want to respond to a discussions, you should be able to. Don't hold yourself back. If you keep responding, you can learn English too. Happy mylotting and good luck!

Hi Snam, just as you, I will check for discussions from my Friends, and then my Interests. After that, I will search in Today's Top and Hot. Sometimes I will look into Recent - there could be some old discussions that are interesting! And also 'No Responses' as well.

Hi there. We actually seem to have the same myLot routine - i.e. respond to friends' topics first and then responding to topics that fall under my interests. I usually get tired of myLot-ting after going through all those but, if I still am in the mood to post, I usually check out discussions with no responses at all. I find it gratifying to be able to be the first to respond to discussions, for some reason.

Yes it does. I usually get bored and tired of mylotting as well so I leave mylot open and do something else such as playing a game or going to one of my other sites. If I cannot find a discussion I like, I also check out the discussions with no responses as well. I like being first for some reason. Happy mylotting!

Once I log in, I always go to my started discussions and see if I have to update my responses... then after that I go into friends started and then go on from there.. some days I get on here for longer time than others, so I go back and forth between friends started and recent....LOL if I cant find anything to post on then I try to come up with my own discussions, I have been pretty lucky lately, I have had a few discussions that went well....LOL

I do a similar thing. I always try to respond back my own discussions before doing anything else although sometimes I will receive just too many responses to respond to. I also visit my friends' discussions as well as discussions in my interests. Thanks for sharing and happy mylotting!

I really don't have many friends yet so, I got to top discussions and see if anything catches my attention and then my interests. Normally something will catch my attention within one of those categories.

I hit the no responces, New Topics, and Todays top discussions... Otherwise I hit what comes in through the mylot digests the most... And look at the friends started sometimes... I am trying to get back into the swing of posting and responding often on mylot... I also hits the news.. I usually always have something to say about the news... Then I do topic searches too... - DNatureofDTrain

That is a new pattern. It is very interesting. I never seem to reply to the discussions in the mylot digest because they have so many responses and I do not want to read all of them. I do not keep up with the news very well so I never have anything to say. Thanks for responding and happy mylotting!
