Srilankan off spinner muralitharan on Thursday made history by becoming the leading wicket taker in one day Internationals.. Can anyone beat muralitharan's record of most number of wickets in tests and one day internationals..? If yes, who do you think has the potential to go past his record..?

I hope in current form of cricket and amount of matches they play it can make possible but at the same time it is difficult to achieve the milestone what have been setted and i m sure in test it is possible by spinners rather than fast bowlers to break the record

it looks extremely difficult for any bowler to break the record. The logic behind this thinking is : 1) It is only possible for spinners to achieve this because the body of a pace bowler cannot withstand this much of wear & tear. Spinners will become less & less effective as the ground size decreases & bats become broader. even mishits are going for sixers today. 2) With the amount of cricket being played today( including 2o-2o) bowlers will burnout sooner, it will be very difficult for modern day bowler to survive for 18-19 years to get as many wickets as murali. 3) Muralidharan & warne are once in a lifetime bowlers, i don't think we will see such gifted boelers ever again.
