My fiance is thinking about joining the military. I'm expecting so he will most likely not be home for the birth if he does. My sister's husband is in the airforce but things have been working out fine for them. What is everyones opinion of Military Parents?

My exhusband was in the Army and was never home. One of the reasons we ended up getting divorced - no fun being a married single parent. My current fiances is ex-Army. I have friends who are Marines and Navy. The Marines are home quite a bit but they are in more of civilian type jobs. Ny Navy friends are always gone.
Air Force is the best way to go. They have much better, cleaner bases, newer housing, and they take better care of ther personnel.

It would definatly be hard to be away from my spouse for so long. Hard to be a single parent too. Sounds like Air Force is the way to go.

I was in the military. Air Force.
My kids enjoyed the life. They went to school on base and they had better relationships. The children in the schools had parents that instill intergrity. Thus, the life style was wonderful!!!
However, I would strongly suggest Air Force.
My husband was in the Navy. There were so many wives and children that hardly saw the parent.....I have seen the same for Army and Marines. (No offense to anyone in that branch.)
But being up close and personal with all the branches at time point in my life, Air Force is more family orientated.
