Twitter have introduced an advertising scheme, called twittad, where you can rent the background of your page to advertisers. Its based on how many followers you have but I just put min up and have been offered $10 for the month. I think thats great, I didnt even know I was gonna make money while I was using it, its such fun, just like mylot. Anyway you need to go here to sign up, you will need to already have a twitter account.

I guess you all do as you have twitter in your list of interests.
Good luck, let me know how much you get offered.

This sounds very interesting, I will pop along and have a look and see what it is all about. How many followers do you have to be able to command that price that you set ?

oh good, now twitter is going to be ruined by people with fake profiles, and/or massive friend lists created just to make money.

There are already hundreds, maybe thousands, of fake accounts on twitter. Some get stopped due to "suspicious" activity, but many remain and succeed in fooling people into believing they are who they say they are. Thats just the nature of man, thus the nature of the internet.

Is TwittAd affiliated with Twitter.com?
No, TwittAd is not affiliated with Twitter.com. TwittAd was built using the Twitter open API. "

And they dont have access to the twitter pages anyway, so its not going to work via twitterad. However, after the massive $35M investment twitter just took from venture capitalists, they are going to have to commercialise the site sooner or later, or lose funding.

I am terribly amazed of knowing that people that I found (in the little time I am here) the best myLotters (Ritz and StereoDiva) are using Twitter! What is the porpoise of Twitter? Can somebody explain it to me in plain english?

Plain english really does depend on how much you are aware of on the internet. If you know what blogging is and what the purpose of blogging is then if I tell you that twitter is microblogging, you will understand.
It is a way to let everyone who follows you know what you are doing right now, but you cant waffle on and on because it limits you to 140 character. Its very popular and the like of Stephen Fry and John Cleese tweet on a daily basis.
Hope all of that crap above has helped, its a bit difficult to explain unless youve been there.

twitter is microblogging, you update your status and let the followers know what you are doing or what is on your mind. You can also promote things and update your followers with different news.
