You wouldn't use your laptop or desktop outside in the rain, would you? Not if you wanted it to keep working anyways It is raining like crazy here today, a good day to stay inside if you are able. But, what about those that must be outside working, like your local police department? These days they all have little computers in their cars, to help them catch the bad guys better. But, what you may not know is that, when it rains like crazy, those computers don't always work well, if at all. I am listening to my scanner and hearing cops in their vehicles complain about missing things because the computer isn't working right. Thank goodness their radios don't care what the weather is like So, what do you do on a day that isn't fit to be outside? Hopefully you don't take your computer outside and dance in the rain

No, I don't take my computer out to dance in the rain. Modern technology is not always the answer to easy police work. hahaha! What I do on a day that is not fit to be outside? I stay inside and make some coffee of thee. Then I either watch tv or do something on the computer. Take care, happy mylotting.

The police cars have computers since 1980... so after almost 30 years... you would think that they would have them working. lol More likely... it is not the computer which is affected by the rain... but the wireless broadband they are using to communicate with the home base computer. In any case... you go to any government department... or even the bank... and their system are always overloaded... because they have too many people accessing it at the same time. The police probably has the same problem. And on a rainy day... there are more accidents... so more police using the system.

Yep, you would think they'd have better systems by now Therre were a lot of accidents that day, but, there are always lots of accidents around here. We keep letting people move into the valley from L.A. that don't know how to drive

Rainy weather makes me want to curl up with a good book. I'm afraid that lightning will get my computer so I steer clear of my laptop during storms. But during a drizzle rain, my laptop and my current book have a dual over me. The winner is often determined by my sons activity level at the time.

It would be difficult to read and enjoy a good book if your son was too active. But, yeah, if there is lightning then it's time to turn the computer off for awhile.

Hi fwidman, I'd like to know what they ever did when computers wasen't invented in the days of old. Well they managed. Now days everyone reley on computers and forgets to do the simpliest things, so they may as well start daning in the rain. Tamara

They caught the bad guys with hard work, I guess The computers are a great help for the police though as they know right quick if the person they have stopped is wanted or not No rain dancing for me, my heels might get soggy

Wow, that sounds like something they need to get fixed up, it would be horrible if they need to know something really important and couldn't get it because of a computer malfunction. I agree with you, it is a good thing that their radios work, cause that could be really bad.

That would be bad, if they let someone go and then found out later they really should have hung onto them because they were wanted But, at least they can call the desk sargeant on the radio and check, the computer inside the station works well

I got to stay outside the other day in the rain and I was not amused. I was waiting for a cab that was late, making me late I'd much rather watch the rain through a window.
