When you are depressed, do you avoid making the mood even worse by not listing to sad music? Or do you try to make yourself feel better by wallowing in sad music for awhile?

when i am depressed i love to listen to sad songs or love songs why? it is because i allowing my self to be sad at that moment. i am releasing my feelings through the songs. once all negative emotions are released i feel relieved. that is my way of regressing my sadness. it may sound weird but it helps me a lot.

Thank you for reply. Not weird at all. I believe that you are not the only one who love listening to sad songs when sad. But for me, neither happy nor sad songs can help. It is good that you can find the way to release negative emotions :-)

I never listen sad music when im sad. Specialy music that match with my sad situation. I juz choose hard music with great ritm which can make me feel lighter. Sometimes i choose to listen a song which match to my situation but that point view is on positive view for me. So i don't feel sad anymore.

I prefer to be alone when I feel sad. But presently it is not possible and if am sad then also I can forget everything with my kid's presence. To be honest, when I spend time with my kids I can't be sad at all. By listening music, my younger one is very much attracted to music and when watching his expression and smile (when he enjoy music), it is really a wonderful feeling and am enjoying it too.

Thank you for your reply. Then do you listen happy music or songs instead? Or simply not listen to any music?

I listen to music when i feel depressed that's why I cry even more while i listen to sentimental kind of music. It allows my tears just to run down and i feel better while i am allowing myself to take out all the pain that i am feeling inside me.
