I survived it. That's the nicest thing I can say about it. It's the reason I am so protective of my own children. They will never have to remember their' childhood as a slow walk through hell.

I had a mixture of both happy and unhappy moments, My most memorable times were when I went to go visit my grandma and spend time with my cousins, my teenage years were hell though, as my step father hit on me.

I grew up with my grandmother, mom, dad, two brothers and a sister in the home. What I remember the most was sitting under my grandmothers quilt frams and poking upwards while she tried to sew. lol Years later when we talked about the past she was laughing about it too.

My childhood was pretty good.. my parents were extremely STRICT .. my friends couldn't come over, we couldn't go over their houses either.. we couldn't talk on the telephone.. yeah, it was pretty rough .. NOW, being 31-I completely understand why they were as strict as they were.

It was a Mixture of both- good and bad....And i hate to look back. Bad had more wieghtage. I was under huge stress of performing to excellence in life, was never expected to fail and always be a good boy. My parents always compared me to some other children and asked me to learn from them. As I grew, I began to fear the world and till I was 16 had nothing left with me except role playing for my parents. But Was it that bad? I ask myself. If They werent there and had my childhood been all goody goody, would i have ever put such hard efforts and reached to the place i am today? well, i dont know. It took me 21 years to get out of the cycle of expectations and complexes (inferior) and finally My friend taught me to love myself ...that day i began respecting myself by showing how beautiful the world is , and how imperfect we all are....that we dont need to be that perfect... ... and Today, I love living in this world.
