i do. i am nearing my 40's. i am afraid to reach 40. i am not exactly afraid of death. but i am more worried about my life not going the way i want it to be and i am not getting younger and not much time to get those things that i have planned in life and i feel it is too late to enjoy those things that in my age now.
i just do pray and hope that there are still some things in life that i can look forward to and can make my life more happy and satisfied in life. i don't know what else things in life that can satisfy me and happy while i am getting older.
wish something good will come out of my miserable life. wish me happiness.

yes, having a positive attitude in life can keep us much younger than our real age.
worrying about getting older cannot at all help us any about coping with the future, much less, the present.
so let us all instead work towards making sure that our future will be bright. that, we have ably prepared ourselves for the setting in of the dusk/sunset in our lives.

I am just 22 and honestly, I don't want to think of getting older. I am afraid of not being able to meet my personal goals and expectations. I know, I am young and there's so many things that I can do with my life. However there are still things where we don't have the control over. I mean, what if I'd get a serious sickness by that age?(knock on wood). I hope everything's gonna turn out well.

well yes, i think that there are really many things that we worry about. when i was your age. i was worried that i will not be successful in my career. which i am not actually right now. but i have discovered that i don't really regret it. cause i have learned to accept and i have realized that career is not what i really the most important in life. i mean having a career is really great. but not able to reach will not make me give up on life or will make me feel that i have lost my life. if i can take back time and live my life again . i will study less and work more in what i really wanted in life which was able to show my real me to other people and to do what i really wanted in life. before i focused more in gaining more knowledge and etc. which i thought will the most important thing i can do with my life. but no, it is not what gives me satisfaction in my heart. still my heart is craving for this one thing that i was been wishing since i was 13. i had the chance to have it during that time but i just failed to realized it back then that it was already just within my hand's reach and so i lost it. i know my answer is vague. but i will talk about it soon. the real reason i feel sorry getting older without it.

well, hotsummer. that is a common feeling among those who are not yet old enough. they are afraid about getting older than 30. then they worry about getting past thirty.
actually, these are nonesense worries. us, much older ones, do not worry at all about the adding of years to our lives. instead, we worry and concern ourselves about keeping ourselves in tiip top shape.
aging is not something to worry about. neither is it something to be fearful for. instead, it is something which we have to prepare for. watch the kind of lifestyle that you have now. it will determine whether you will have a healthy body once you age or, an unhealthy one due to utter neglect of having a healthy lifestyle while still young.

well i do take care of my body. i do try to eat healthy foods and i don't have any vices. but i don't think that will be enough to make me say that i should not be worried in getting older. i think that i should just wanted to have what i wanted long ago in life. if i do get it i am sure i will be less afraid in getting older. cause i will not have any regret by that time. only regrets will make feel sorry in getting older.

I am not afraid of growing old as we all will go through that phase. And I am also not worried whether I will have something to look forward to or have the energy to do the things I have been planning. I simply find new hobby or new activities so that I will have no time to think about how old I am. What worries me is whether or not my health will be at it best when I grow old. With ill health, there is nothing much one can do, perhaps one will be popping tablets for the rest one life. So, don't worry about getting old, everybody will grow old. Worry about your health and take good care of your health before you become really old. And one more thing, age is only a number, what matter is how you bring yourself.

yes age is just number when you are still looking young as late as possible or as older you get. i do definitely to have more years to live and being healthy till the end so that i can live a quality of life and to enjoy as much things as possible and to fulfill all my dreams. hope you do live that life in the future healthy and fruitful as you do now.

Hi hotsummer,You are not yet 40 and you think that you are getting old! I can assure you that if you are like most people, you have plenty of time to enjoy life.I am 69 and don't consider myself as being old, there are many things that I hope to do yet. I have two sons who are over 40 and I would think it really funny if either of them told me that they were concerned about being old. I am the youngest in my family having a sister and two brothers who are older than me. I feel that you really need to change your attitude if you are to find happiness. Of course I do not know your circumstances and I don't mean to sound harsh, it's just that to me you seem so young. I do hope that you will find the happiness that you are seeking and be able to the things that you have always hoped to do in life. It is just that I feel that you have plenty of time. Blessings.

well yes, i am almost 40. happy to hear that 40 is not yet that old. hopefully i will be able to still use my life to enjoy things that i have not enjoy when i was young. i hope that i still have the time to do it. i am just hoping. cause i feel that life will not be worth it if i will not be able to do this one thing i was hoping for in my whole life. i don't know if i should what it is all about. but i may do so to make it more clear. if that thing i am hoping still able to come to my life, i hope that i will still be able to appreciate it and enjoy it. my problem or wish seems to be so simple but seems complicated also because of what happened or turn of events. it has become so elusive just because of my fault i guess. i just hope that Someone up there will give me more chance in life for this one. just for this one. thanks for your reply. yours is truly comforting.

yes that is true. confidence is really important. that what was missing in me back then and i guess till now. if i had more confidence back then i should had what i wanted since i was 13 years old. but i just learned that it was i really wanted in life when i already old enough. i have been looking for somewhere or other places but failed to realized that it is just right under my nose back then. anyways, i hope that i can still get another chance. but sometimes i feel though i may get it or have the chance to have it. i feel that i have lost so much time without it and spent so many days feeling sad because i was missing. anyways, thanks for posting. i hope to be able to talk about the real reason. but i don't know how to explain it really well to make it very clear and to make my points across clearly.

We all are. Even if we don't accept it.
Everyone of us, I think wish for a longer life and
to stay forever young. But that is impossible. What
I'm really afraid of is getting older and have not finish
what I need to do.
There are some things in life that I still want to have, get
and done. Looking back at my teenage life, I thought everything
can be taken easy. I live my life like I was the king of the universe.
But then problems arises. It open my eyes to the truth, life is not
what I perceive it to be.
Getting older, help me to sustain my growth of knowledge and awareness
of how my life would be and where I will be heading. There are times that
I questioned myself If I really give the love that my family deserves. Did
I take them for granted? Did I hurt somebody I meet during my early journey
in life? Am I being a good citizen to my country? A good neighbor? A good friend?
As time goes by, I can only hope that getting older would give me something to
look forward to.

that is what i am hoping for that there are lots of things that i can look forward as i get older. i want to see so many beautiful things in my life as i get older than to see opportunities to lessen as i get older. but i don't know if i can improve my life as i get older. i am just hoping so. since there is nothing that i can do about my past.

Well I guess going old is something that we shouldn't worry too much. It will come and no one can prevent it from happening. What I do is enjoy what life can best offer me and that is what we should be thinking of right now because aging is just part of life.

Ageing is a normal phenomena in life. To age does not matter but worrying about ageing will make you age faster. Today, due to fast lifestyles, our minds too are racing so fast that we are unable to cope, resulting in panic and various mental problems. This affects our body and then we begin to worry. While your mind and body are still healthy, you should develop the practice of spending some time with yourself. Then when some serious and unexpected events occur in your life, you will have the power to step back and observe. You must understand that whatever is happening will subside. Mental problems are increasing due to depression which comes from insecurity, anxiety and worry. Handle everything you have to do fearlessly.

actually it is not getting older that bothers me but getting older without one thing in life that is missing. we should not really be worried but i am worried about the quality of life i am living. and i think that when we are younger we are not worried much cause we feel that there are lots of time to fix things up in our life that needs some fixing.

Well i am not really about getting older probably because i am still quite young , but i still see some people getting worried when they enter the 40's , maybe they think people are not interested in older people and think of them as a burden.

Getting older has been a major break down every individual faces in his / her life once they cross the mid 30's.
Generally they tend to get depressed that time is running away from them and there is less time to achieve so much.
Let me tell you it is just a mind game, the less you think about the more time you see infront of you.
Age only matters if you are a model or a athlete or anyone else whose profession allows them to think of the age. Even they move on to other fields where they find peace of mind from their aging problems.
You need to be young at heart and mind. There are Elder people who are at their 70's yet live life as if they have come into the world just yesterday.
It is the enthusiasm and anxiety that you have to keep alive to feel younger.
Don't be depressed that you have less time, be fortunate that you have today to live. Make something out of it and aspire for more tomorrow :)

I am wishing you for a more meaning life. Sometimes, I felt the same way. I am 24 years old and still asking for monthly allowances from my parents. I am still studying and soon to graduate this year. Hope to give my parents what they deserve in return.

I am not worried about getting old. I am already 38 (just celebrated my birthday this February). i can't stop my age from getting older because it's natural to age. I just don't think about my age because I still feel in my twenties. I may be physically more mature now than twenty years ago, but there are many things that make me feel younger. I have never planned my life because there is always something destined for us. . you are not yet old and don't stop yourself from enjoying things in life. Always think positively and you will feel better. good luck. Stay happy always.

Hmmmm.. Not really.. Getting older is inevitable. What I'm doing for now is to prepare for getting older. I'm trying to save, earn, and preparing myself physically.. I do exercise regularly and eating healthy diets when I reach the age of 25 coz I'm already prone to sickness. Prevention will always be better than cure..

Hello dear i think we do not get older by age but by our thoughts. If we think that we are getting older and become somewhat pessimistic then we just miss the opportunity to live life fully.
I am 30 years of age and my husband is 35 and we still consider ourselves very young because we are yet to achieve so many things in our respective lives.
Be cool and start afresh as 16 years old.

You need to turn your thought process around and instead of being afraid of reaching 40, be happy when you do!...It means your still with us. It sounds like you still have many things left undone that you wished to do with your life. Do what you can, while you can..You never know what can stop you later on.
Next year I will be 50 and i was thinking the same thing..I dont want to be 50! But since I had some serious health problems starting at age 43, I now am thankful for every year I get older. Although I cant do what i wish I could, I try to do small things that people might appreciate and I know I certainly appreciate the small things much more.
I wish you lots of love and happiness as the years go by, and hopefully you will find what satisfies and makes you happy. Look for the little things,

I'm not afraid of getting older, but fear of ill health. Can't imagine being an invalid and live for years and years. As long as I can still take care of myself, able to eat whatever food I like, go wherever I want to go, read whatever books interested me, I dont mind being 88 years old or 99 years old white-haired old lady.
