Staring into oblivion, odd really because oblivion is something that is not even there really. Oblivion, a wonderfull strange word that describes something that we can't see, can't feel, is obviously not there because it's nothing and it still has a word to describe it!
Basicly, the internet is like oblivion. You can get lost in it, you don't know what's out there and everyone fantasizes about it every now and then. You can see or talk about the internet, but you can't grasp it or hold it in your hand.
It's everything and nothing at the same time. It's oblivion.
When we go to sleep, do we go into oblivion? We can't remember it, we can't feel it, but sometimes our dreams give us a peak into our own subconsious. Are we oblivion?
What is you definition of oblivion? Be creative!

Guess what cyberfluf! There's actually a discussion category called "Journey into oblivion"! Oblivion to me is nothing...... Yet it's also EVERYTHING! It's kinda like blissful ignorance really. But the downside is that just because we're not willing to acknowledge something's presence, it doesn't mean that it's not actually there! If I could wave a magic wand right now though, I'd make Oblivion become something tasty. I'm hungry and won't be home for a few more hours yet!

Wow, I didn't know . I've gotta add that one for sure!
Better yet, make oblivion a machine of some kind to transport any substance. It's dinnertime over here, and I will happily teleport you a fine, warm meal through oblivion. Sounds somewhat like a corny package delivery service now. Neh, I killed it .

I just cannot help remembering the words of the ex president Richard Nixon “Finishing second in the Olympics gets you silver. Finishing second in politics gets you oblivion.”
And I think this explains the state of oblivion very practically.

Thank you, Balasri. You are the first to answer with both a quote and a practical solution for this discussion. I didn;t know these (famous) words of ex president Richard Nixon, but I do like them a lot. Thank you for sharing them with me! . I think he solved the discussion beautifully!

when i go to bed,i donot go to sleep immediately(now there is nothing naughty here),i imagine a lot of things which can never come true, for eg;i want to be young(teeneger)again(i donot think its possible unless ofcourse if a time machine)is invented).so oblivion for me is wishful thinking!!!

Ah yes, wishfull thinking. What a wonderfull way to go around it.
I think you make a lot of sence there, also referring to my own post above.
It has some similarities which I can relate to. And you know, sometimes the fun part of wishfull thinking is that even though a lot of it doesn't come true, we still have the mental power to fantasize about it and keep it alive .
