I'm sure the sterotypes are still out there but one must wonder how much is too much? or does it make a differance at all? I was reading about it and I was also thinking this as I have 2 girls & my youngest is a boy. I try to keep boy things in his room but they don't leave his things alone and I feel like man why am I even buying him trucks if he can't use them.... but they are also getting used to him being old enough to have wants. Though I loved matchbox cars when I was a kid and I turned out ok ;) So no biggie right?

Me, I got a son and a daughter. I buy stereotype toys to them. I don't know but it is somehow an instinct that I buy a doll for my daughter and a ben10 watch to my son. :) Happy mylotting.

My daughter plays with dolls one day and cars the next. She likes Spiderman just as much as Dora. I let her play with whatever she wants - I see no need to restrict her, she is going to like whatever she likes anyway. I played with cars and liked some "boy" things as a kid too!

I don't do it on purpose but I don't buy my son dolls. I tend to get them toys that are stereotypical boy toys. Since we have no daughters it isn't hard to keep the toys separate. Sometimes at the neighbors house they will play with "girl" toys but they have never really asked for anything like a doll or a kitchen set or things people generally call girl toys.
