So what’s your thoughts on this, should they remove them. It seems to me in the short while I that there are too many posts of this nature. With some wanting you to join up for this money making offer or this new PTC site. Don't get me wrong I am a member of some of these sites and I am not against anyone earning a little extra cash along the way. It just seems myLot is being bombarded with these "Make extra Money" posts.
Should they remove these categories or would that cause another category to be flooded with these posts? Are you happy with what you earn on myLot while having some fun ?
Or maybe I should just remove the catergory from my interests lol.
Remember have fun and don't take it all to seriously.

I totally disagree that the make money section should be removed. I have found it often contains really useful information about GPT sites that I have not been able to find elsewhere. Of course I don't appreciate it when some people break the rules and post their links there but it doesn't bother me so much that I would think of closing down the entire section because of that. The make money section, rightfully so, is for people looking for GPT sites and for people promoting GPT sites. Some people will post long explanations about the merits and/or disadvantages of a particular site and some people will say very little about the site...that's ok....Mylot allows both long and short posts. In summary there is not much wrong, in my opinion, with the make extra money section...those who abuse it by posting links will eventually have those links removed...so, no problem.

I don't think they should remove them, although if they did it wouldn't matter to me. I don't spend that much time in the make extra money categories. There are a lot of discussions being started about trying to get referrals for a site. I try to ignore most of it. There are some good discussions about earning online so that is why I don't really think they should remove the categories of making money online.
I try not to take anything too seriously but it's not that easy
sometimes.

I don't want them to remove that discussion as I find that I learn a few ways to make extra money there and I have made some friends from that. If you don't want to deal with it, then just remove from your interests as some of us still like that section and enjoy the posts and responses.
I am always looking for ways to make some extra money and so everything that I can learn from is nice for me.

No way! I get a lot of good advice from this part of MyLot! I get a lot of bad advice too, but that's where the old critical faculties come in. I don't make a fortune online, but what I do make is at least partly due to tips I've picked up from MyLot. Like you say, you can always remove this category from your interests if you want to.

I think it's not removing the category rather removing the discussions that posts links that are scam. I think most posts there are actually trying to build their referral network.

I dont know about doing away with it, as it is good for newbies to learn a little bit about the online money making, but I can see where things are getting repititous in the discussions. It isnt the only ones that I post too as I started truly posting for books and for cooking recipes... since that was my first interest here... I have added quite a few since then, and I will by pass the money ones when I am looking for a post to responde too... only I have to say some of them have been good and some of them I dont even notice anymore...LOL
this is true, it is something that we can just take away from our interest, but I will keep mine as I am new to the whole making money online thing and will take what info I can get that will be beneficial to me... LOL

Yes that is true. When I signed up for myLot it went through all the interests and I just added it at sign up. Who dosen't want to make a little extra money if they can. I have seen some excellent posts on the money making section, I just wish there were more of them.

No, they should not. As Mylot has helped people find the real making money programs, and avoided scams, as well as helped people verify what is safe and not and the truths about many programs.
Yes, I am happy with what I earn on mylot, But I feel there is nothing wrong with learning how to make money otherways and mylot has gave me numerous ways to help.
I earned 95.55$ on mylot in three months. I have nearly 300$ coming to me total from numerous programs within a single years time. Money I would not have otherwise if I did not learn about these programs through mylot... I have 200$ offline in three years worth of b-day gifts, and small earnings around the family... my intent on mylot is not only to have fun, but earn money...
I am fighting to try to save my house... and the land in the end if my 60 year old parents pass on, I will have no where to go... This is my only chance of keeping off the streets... Is the money I earn through the internet...
and it is even harder as my account is no verified so I work programs and then I can not get paid cause I do not have a bank account, or checking, or credit card...
I had the hope if I could figure out how to make an earning online and get myself out of poverty earning wise.. That maybe I could help others do the same....
Removing repeat discussions mylot already does.. But Barring earning money topics entirely.. Why? It is a good topic and in a failing economy everyone needs as much information as they can on this topic.
Mylotters have a chance to be honest with eachother in giving the reality about such programs. Yes it does pay but it pays such and such this is the risks, the reality of it....
That is what people need right now is to know the truth, the amount of pay, and the reality of internet money making programs.
Take care,

I think it should stay, especially now when the world economy is hurting so badly. Sure there are a ton, maybe too many, but myLot has been the source of me finding about all sorts of make money online opportunities like pickjack, and back when it was decent, platinum lounge, as well as some others. Some of them have fallen through but others aren't bad. It's a great way for us to share our experiences and help each other out, especially when so many of us can use every penny we can get. It's nice to enjoy ourselves online, but if we can make a few pennies here and there doing it then all the better.

Hi,
i don't think they should be removed from the category as people are posting alot in that section means they are of great demand. and since people are also getting some extra bucks through these sites so they must be the useful ones. so,when people are taking advantages from those sites and my lot is just a medium for those people then why to interupt them there...
we are all here for the good reasons .so why make something mess when we don't want to...:)

Your question has the answer in it too. You have just mentioned that this section is bombarded with posts, which means that this is a popular section. why should mylot remove a popular section.
Let us be honest & agree that our first reason to join mylot was extra money. It's only later we realized that this was more fun than money.
Using social sites to get referrals is an accepted way of marketing today. This is just a virtual highway were friends discuss ways to earn, spend & save money.
None of us can complain about quality of posts in this forum. It is upto each one of us to post quality discussions in make money forum.

I tend to agree with most of these posts, and that the making money interests area necessary part of how this site works. If that's waht you want to talk about it's fine, but I too am very tired already of seeing things like go to this or that site for money, and use my name, etc, etc. Most of us here are out to make some extra money, and there are legitimate questions about the process, so I saay no, don't stop the real posts from comming through, but all newbies should be aware that scammers are everywhere, and when they come across a post of questionable nature, they should feel free to report it, I know I do!
I started a few weeks ago and I found some of those posts about MyLot and making money helpful, but now that I have found tons of discussions here with so many other interests, I rarely even look at those money making posts. Thanks for the good question!

I don't think a group or topic should be deleted.
I am one of the ones who do post a lot in those extra money sections, although recently, I have moved more on to other subjects because the topics being discussed in the extra money or similar are just a constant list of promotion links, which even if you wanted to reply and offer advice or direction, it would be pointless because of others putting referal links throughout, which is of course against MyLot TOS.
After a while it will settle down again, but perhaps it would be nice if MyLot put some sort of warning up, not to post Links directly, then it wouldn't seem like a bunch of Adverts.

Very good point. The money making section would be better without the constant psoting of links, I can understand why people do it, but it is against the TOS. Dont get me wrong I am always on the lookout for a good site to earn a bit of extra money, I just think the "Making extra money" category can be used more effectively.

my lot is a discussion site where every one has his own ways to express and he has his way to express and also he wants to make extra money. I dont think that such dissuions should be stoped, well if they are stopped then well you will see that many of them would shop using mylot so well all discussions should be allowed well it is the wish of the person to responce or not to the discussion
