If you own a camera or camcorder, how often do you take pictures/videos?

My wife got me a digital camcorder as a early birthday gift. I've just got through reading the instructions for it as I wanted to make sure I learned all of it's features before actually using it. There are still things that I don't quite understand about it all in all, but I will learn it with hands on experience. I take pictures and videos every opportunity that I can get, and moreso now than ever since I joined a site that gives you points where you can turn them in for cash or gift cards. How often do you take pictures or record videos? Do you post them on the internet for distant family members to see? Or do you have several album books that you have to haul off to all of your family reunions?

I have a camera as well as a camcorder. I do take pictures on every occassions. I mean we in India have several festivals on offer so, we do capture moments in our camera or camcorder on each festivals. We go to picnic or something like this too, so that place is also got to be captured. Sad news is that our camera flash is not working and we need to by another camera. With global recession is on, we can't afford it, so we use it in sunlight only Thank you for the discussion.

Day time photos are better than no photos. I have a camcorder and a digital camera and I know how you feel if the lighting isn't right.

Yes, it is sad. I am still searching for any shops which can repair this one. Thankfully, this is no festival time, otherwise, It would have been worse

I and my husband loves taking pictures and recording videos whenever we are out or in some nice places. We love taking pictures of the places we are visiting and even the foods we are eating. Then we upload them in the internet, friendster in particular for our other friends to see. In that way our relatives and friends are being updated. When it comes to printing pictures and putting them in an album, I think that is already part of the past since computer can now showcase pictures and you can always delete the not-so-good ones.

LoL ~ you bring up a good point there about computers making albums obsolete. I discovered that they are going to stop making the instant polaroid film because the age of digital cameras are here, driving your point home! Have you heard of Gather? If not, take a look at my profile, you can share your photos and things with your family there, you can even invite them to see your albums, and they can even join you in the process. The thing is the more pictures, videos, or writing posts, the more they reward you with points. You can take those points and trade them in for giftcards, or cash to paypal. It's been really fun. Thanks for your response.

It's really a relief owning a camcorder since i could easily take pictures and record videos of important events at the same time immediately uploading it to the internet making it accessible to relatives and friends in other countries. At the same time we can still edit them before finalizing making them more beautiful and suited to our desires. Events should not be forgotten and be recorded as much as possible especially if it concerns my child and her milestones in school. I also take time to develop them and carefully arrange them in photoalbums. I'm planning to buy a storage device with large memory as a backup for the pics....

Its so easy now to load pictures onto disks ...Boy will my kids be bored when Im gone and they decide to look through my pics...not that the pics are boring but getting through so many , might be...They will almost know my life story on a daily basis!!...I guess that could be a good thing!

I do take pictures from time to time. Usually when its a special events like birthdays, anniversaries, and during my trainings. As you can see, I conduct safety trainings most of the time. So for documentation purposes, I take pictures. On the other hand, when I am with my family or my friends and we go out for some fun, or vacation, or some outing, then I would take pictures.

I have a digital camera that I used quite a lot in the past. Took lots of pics and used it as webcam also. Right now due to work I almost donĀ“t have the time to take pics so I am not using it very often anymore. Pitty cause I really love to take pics.

There's always time to take a picture especially with digital camera. The time to get it uploaded and shared with others can become the most challenging part of the process.

I take pictures as much as I can, but I've been a little haunted by that little memory of dropping my old camera, so I try not to touch the new one as much. Let's just say I'm in some sort of gadget-esque depression; I never got over my first camera. I take videos--not so much. My mom's the one who owns the camcorder, so it scares me a little to touch it. I don't have cash to pay for that one if I break it. But--since mom doesn't [and never wants to] know how to operate a camcorder, I've got no choice but to take the videos. Last thing: I bring CDs to family reunions. I edit all the pictures and videos on a software, and then I have them put into CDs. My mom pays me a hundred for a CD, so it's pretty much worth it.

I'm planning on doing that as well. But I have to get some memorable moments along with pictures that I can incorporate that sort of a video together. I'm a gadget fan as well, so I know how you felt with your first. But just think you can take that hundred and put a little more with it and replace it.

I always wanted to have a digital camera so bad. I always took pictures with my phone but they were not really good, so I got my camera this last christmas. I was taking pictures of everything. I post most of them to my album on myspace. But now I'm not so excited about it anymore, I'll go days without even touching the camera, I guess it gets boring after a while.

I have a digital camera and a camcorder. I only use the camcorder on special occasions, like holidays and birthdays and such. But I use the camera everyday. I have an 8 month old (my first baby), so I am constantly taking pictures of him. All of my family lives pretty far away, so I take frequent pictures of him to email to them. I also have photo albums full that I take to family get togethers.

I take digital pictures almost every day because I'm somewhat obsessed with documenting everything our family does :) I take videos probably once a week or so, depending on what we're doing. I usually email some out to family and friends who we don't see regularly. I also get some of the best ones printed for my grandmothers and in-laws who don't get on the computer regularly.

Advance Happy Birthday hdjohnson and enjoy your wonderful gift! I own a digital cam that can also take videos and I use it whenever I see something interesting, funny or beautiful--people, pets, landscapes, etc. I also use my cam to record or take pictures of memorable events and places. To share these photos or videos I either post them online, copy them CDs or bring the laptop to social gatherings where friends and family would like to view my pictures.

I use my digital camera every time I get together with friends (sometimes even alone) - so about twice a week, usually. I post them in my photobucket account, and usually will post them on a blog I have at Bloopdiary.com (where I have a public diary & some regular friends I visit on there).
