Do you keep a diary of the dreams that you have so you can look over them and try to figure them out later?

I don't keep one, mainly because I usually don't remember what I dreamed anyway. So, it kind of seems pointless to keep one, in my opinion. There are sometimes, when I do remember bits and pieces, but that's pretty much it.

Not a real diary but when I have a really interesting dream I write it down on a paper so I won't forget about it. I've read that writing a dream diary will help you remember your dreams and be more aware of them and that leads to lucid dreaming. I love lucid dreaming but I always wake up right into sleep paralysis after it:(

Hi There. I used to keep a diary when I was in High school and partially in college. I believed I still have my diary from High school. I was able to keep it after all these years. I often laughed for the silly things I wrote there about my favourite teacher, anime shows and my crushes hahaaha… I can’t believe that I had a big crush to my classmate all through out my high school years. I don’t know why I haven’t throw it away… I should since I don’t want anyone reading it lolz… but I still have it anyway. In college, I tried to write in my own journal but I got bored and busy in updating it… so I decided to stop. Lolz. Thank you for the discussion and Have a great day! Happy Mylotting! Cheers!

I read an article a while back (sorry I dont have a link or anything), that said that if you keep a diary it will help you remember your dreams better in the future. I was considering keeping a diary of my dreams because I usually have some really weird ones. Then I read that article and decided not to. My dreams are usually so weird, sometimes violent, and just around creepy, I'd rather not do anything to increase the chances of me remembering them in the morning.

I do keep a dream diary, but I don't try and figure them out later. I really don't think they mean anything.

There was a time when I was very interested in my dreams and the meaning of them. It must have been about ten years ago, and at that time I kept a dream diary, so that I could remember my dreams and try to discover their meaning. I kept using my dream diary for a couple of years, and I ended up writnig down quite a lot of dreams. It was pretty interesting to read my dreams, and I actuaally discovered a common pattern in them. Many of dreams where about rejection or about being left out, and I had many dreams where the main pattern seemed to be that there was no room for me (no chair left for me etc).
