I don't know how to save money but that was before when I was starting to earn. I was excited to go on shopping, spend my money all the way. My mom taught me the importance of saving money for my future because she wont be always around to give me money. I now have my own savings account. I am happy to see my money growing little by little, it was a big help that I have some savings. When I need something for emergency, I can just get it and I dont have to worry to whom I should borrow. Life is difficult now. No one is generous to give you money for no reason.

Yes, I set aside twenty percent of my monthly income. And will invest it later on. It is important to save and prepare for the emergency situations. Like what is happenning right now, more companies have been laying-off their workers. I just hope these workers have enough savings to finance their day to day needs until they will find a new job. We should manage our finances well, it is one of the things in life that is within our control. Let us all spend our hard-earned money wisely!

This is something I don't do and it's a shame really but there's nothing I can do about it. I'm presently in debt and I'm 34 years of age and I cannot see myself getting a mortgage in my lifetime so I guess I'm going to be renting for the rest of my days. This probably sounds defeatest but, I have to look at the reality of things. I think that I'm going to try and get as much enjoyment out of life as I can within my limitations. I'm not putting a downer on saving though as I feel that this is vital. I guess I can put something away from time to time. I think that this is what is important, making the effort to save no matter how small. Andrew

i have a daughter, for whom i should be responsible. so i always try to make as more money as possible by taking some side jobs and save as much as possible. who knows what will happen in the future. with money in your pocket, you'll always be able to find a way. i use my salary to pay for various expenses, and save the income from my side jobs as a time deposit. so nearly every month i have a good saving.

yah i save money for any future use. but i enjoy it when i use my savings and make extra money from it. i dont usually keep it for a long period of time and withdrew it for emergency purposes. seeing the figures on my account and thinking on how i could multiply the amount always challenges me. i hate it when i use it and have nothing to deposit in return although there were times that i cant help it.

I try to save money, but living from pay cheque to pay cheque doesnt leave much room for it and if i do manage to put a little aside, I end up using it. Something always come up or fall short by the month end. I am planning to get a notice account that i have to give 30-90 days notice before i can get the money. That should keep me out of my saving account and i can watch my money grow too.

Hello There. How are you? Yes, I save money for my future right now. However, for the past years, I haven’t been able to save money for myself because I need to pay and support my siblings in their studies. I forgot that I need to save money for my own future. But now, I feel that it is time for me to think of myself and start planning for my future. I am still helping my mother in financing my siblings education but I make sure that I keep some money in the bank. I am trying to be responsible for my actions. Right now, I am half way through with my credit card payments then after that, I would be able to save some more. Hahaha… It is really true that you need to save your money so that when you have an emergency, you are ready for it. IT is hard to not have money when you really need it. I am happy that you get to save some money to your savings account. Keep earning and saving for the future! Thank you for the discussion. Happy MYlot and Have a great day! Cheers!

I haven't saved much, but atleast I'm doing my best to save some money. I won't be strong always, eventually I'll grow old and my earning capacity would greatly decrease so I will have to learn how to save more. I don't have much savings right now, but definitely I'll be starting to save more and soon.

I think that it is important to save money for the future. I have decided to stay home with my daughter for a couple of years, and this experience alone has made me realise that I need to make sure that I have something for her, if I'm not around. I took up insurance policies and now trying very hard to keep up with the premium payments every year. So I decided to save as much money as possible from online programs and other freelance writing ventures. I will put them aside for the premiums first before anything else. It's forced saving, you may call it, but I think it is working.

I am almi=ost through paying my credit cards, after that i am planning to open up an account and save, not only for my future but also for the future of my family.

For an adult, it is common sense to earn for property. We have property from labor, from estate building, and from people. When economy was good, people tend to shift to stocks, housing, etc. in the attempt for fast growth of property, reluctant to pursue property by labor. Now, we are back to common sense that labor is the main source of property. Once you earn by labor, you will cherish more the value of what you gain. And you will understand the hardship of your parents in earning the money. Saving momey and living frugally are traditional values we regain from the current economic storm. Saving money can help assure your future. Live frugally, and healthily, and get well prepared for better qualification so that you are in a position for jobs actively at your choice, instead of passively at others' choice.

I'm a single mom with a 4 year old daughter and I learned that if I spend everything I earn on buying toys or clothes or silly treats for me, then I'm being really irresponsible to my daughter. I chose to accept responsibility for providing her with a stable home and that meant saving hard for a house deposit. When I had that, I bought us a home to live in. Now I save hard every week to pay off that mortgage so that she'll always have stability and never have to cope with a mom who is constantly struggling to give her anything. Yes - I think saving is REALLY important. It's our responsibility!

It's hard to save money if you are married and have children already but i make it a point to save even little so as to be prepared for the future. My husband and I have our monthly savings of P2,000 in our bank account. Doing so made me feel secure that whatever happens in the future - good or bad, we have something in store that we can get anytime.
