I wrote a letter to one of my overseas friends about two months ago. For some reason, hand-written letters are really personal! And personally? I enjoy receiving "snail mail" - I would pick to receive physical MAIL from friends ANY DAY (rather than facebook messages, AIM conversations, and emails). I find that writing a letter shows time & commitment; ANYONE can get on a computer and type a message - but a person who writes a letter has to take the time to write it out, seal it in an envelope, and bring it to the post office. That alone must constitute a friendship. :) I also like keeping letters for sentimental purposes. I like to be able to look back at a friend's letter and reminisce. I like the idea of being able to look at it later on; and I feel like online "letters" don't really have the same effect as ones hand-written and sent to you in the mail. :)

That was about fifteen years ago when I went on business trip overseas for the first time. Everything was fresh and interesting, custom clearance, flying on plane, alien cities, plants, meals, hostess, parks, churches. I wrote everything down and share with my family. Now a lot has come true in my country, just 15 years, a short period but a big change.
