Have you ever had RECYCLED DREAMS?

RECYCLED DREAMS---I just made that up, to describe dreams that have been repeated or have happened more than twice. Just last night I dreamed of something that I have dreamed of before. Only, some events seemed different from the previous but it was in the same place, same people involved, and the way I felt about it the first time was the same. The rest and most of it just looked and felt the same. Have you dreamed of dreams you've dreamed before? (tongue-twister, right?) Do you think it's weird? Like a semi-deja vu or something. And how come it happened again? *shrugs*

Hi there. I've had this recurring dream of being chased and nearly-abducted by aliens. I've had it once when I was a child, once when I was in high school and another when I was in college. It was the same old dream that, by the third time I had it, I was actually even aware in my dream that it was a dream. It's weird, having the same dream over and over again.

Waaaah... So scary~! I don't mind dreaming it a thousand times more as long as it doesn't come true, then.

Hi Theresaaiza. Yeah, it happens to me many times. The dream is somewhat weird, I know what will happen next but some of the part was missing. Dreaming is always a part of my sleep, even taking naps. I can tell it's like deja vu, dreams are some part of our unconscious mind. Whatever! But dreams are sometimes meant to happen or it has something to deal with out lives.

Yes it's happened to me. Never with the nice dreams though. It has only ever happened with the more unpleasant ones and I can recall one in particular that frightens me a bit and I have dreamt the same situation at least four or five times in the last few years. It seems not to have any connection with anything going on in my life or any particular incident and it's a bit scary

Yah, I also experienced dreaming the same dream all over again. And its really strange. Made me wonder and think about it. Seems that there is something or theres a message or meaning associated with that dream.

Ooooh, I don't wanna know what it means. Or if I do, I don't wanna know the whole things. That dream that got repeated always were the creepy and less-inspiring ones.

i really don't have any idea as to what triggers this phenomenon. the truth is, to dream a dream which i have dreamed before is quite common for me. it is kind of an event which normally takes place in a month. i can still recall a dream which was continuous. so i have this dream and it ended when i woke up. then, as i sleep again the following evening, a continuity of the dream takes place. on and on this happened for about a week or so. i enjoyed it, it was a good dream. like a vacation spent at the farm or something happily. the effect of it in me? i feel like i have gone on vacation, on a camping spree.

I have dreamed that I can breathe underwater. Wow, how about that? Diving underwater without getting drowned? Dreams have ways of fulfilling our deepest desires. Not that Ive always wanted to be afish. I always wanted not to be afraid of swimming.

I had one dream that was the same and it finally came true. I also have dream landscapes (buildings etc) that show up over and over but don't really exist. my client has what she calls "Dream Louisiana" (her grandmother's farm), "Dream Houston," "Dream Austin." Yeah, they bear some resemblence to the real things, but no completely and things in the dream exist that never have in reality.

HI Elic, speaking of dream landscapes, I have dreamed of this certain old building. It looked deserted and haunted in my dream. Days after, my friend brought me to this certain place I've never been before, and I was just so shocked to find that similar-looking building I saw in my dream. The experience just sort of gave me the creeps.

Yes I have and in fact sometimes when I did not like the way it turned out the first time, I change the ending. I know it sounds weird, but sometimes in a dream I guess bring myslef up to a consciousness level that allows me to control the dream at that point.

Yes!I get some recycled dreams like you. They are of visiting a temple which is old enough with a pond in it .And the pond is situated very low from the ground level.I have this dream of going to that temple often.I can't understand why this dream is repeatedly coming to me.But,I like that dream.Cheers!

hi srganesh....you reminded me of another repetitive dream that I have. IN my dream I got lost and I end up in an old Catholic church all the time. It's comforting but creepy at the same time.

Well, I guess this things happens once in a while. I might be mistaken but perhaps this is normal. Maybe this dreams occur and recur considering that we think about it constantly or something that we find nice and great. Or it could be something that is pressuring us when when we are not sleeping thus when we sleep its there. Well, I really don't know if my assumptions are right but It did happen to me.

weird, right? I am never really thinking about it when I'm awake. That keeps me puzzled why it keeps happening in my dreams.

Hey Theresaaiza! Yes! I have had the same dreams before! And I like that recycled dreams! I have had the same dreams more than once and they don't make any sense either. I can sometimes remember them or parts of them and sometimes I don't even know the people that are in them which is even more bizarre! I can't explain them or understand them and they do disturb me. And then to have them reoccur! So explain that?
@Theresaaiza (10487)

Haha...I also can't explain that. That dream I had last night, I don't know why it happened again because I wasn't thinking of anything related to that when I was awake. right, they've been repeated but still no sense at all. Man, it should make sense the next time I dream of it.

You mean reoccurring dreams? I have several. One is that my teeth fall out. I read somewhere that it is a sign of insecurity. Another dream I have repeatedly is that I am completely naked in public! I also dream that I am going to a public toilet and I am doing what people do in the toilet and suddenly the walls fall away and I am exposed for everyone to see. Scary stuff! I am a psychiatrist's dream, I think (LOL)
11 Feb 09
yes i guess it is something like that,, it's like a reminder of something that will happen,,, i do believe in that because my freinds told me that dreams have connections in reality,,,

I call them recurring dreams. Yes. As far as I understand, they do have meaning. I hae a few that symbolise certain insecurities. They differ slightly but alwas have the same theme. You should find out what this one means for you.
