If you could recommend just one book, what would it be and why? I'm always looking for new ideas and types of books/authors to read, so I thought I'd ask my fellow mylotters for some fresh ideas.

Hi Mich , I would definitely recommend ,Napolean Hill's ,"Think and Grow Rich"... because it covers in depth as to what makes a person successful in his life ,it reveals secrets of how by just belief a person can attain what he really wants in his life . So do go through it and tell me how it is .... Cheers Vishwas

If you want good ideas, fresh ideas, I recommend Saki. H H Munro, pen name Saki, had a good way of putting things across. I remember reading a story about a man bringing his dog out for a walk. He met his friend, and his friend asked "Is this dog belong to you?" He said "No, I belong to the dog."

I have read many books in my time, but I am reading one book at present that affected me strongly. A while back, I saw a movie called Blood Diamonds. This book, The Bite of the Mango is set in the same country, Sierra Leone during their civil war there. The lady in the story hands got cut off by young soldiers at age 12, and somehow, she gets to a hospital, amputee camp and eventually to England and now Canada. I cannot imagine nor do I want to imagine what this young woman went through, and if you want to understand the things that others go through, then this book is the book for you.

well, it really depends on what genre of books you're looking for. For me, i love reading medieval romances. And it is quite hard for me to pinpoint ONE book to recommend for there are many good authors out there. But of all, my best author is Julie Garwood. All her books are exciting and i get hooked to them easily.

Hello, well I can tell you the last book I read was an interesting one. It is "The Avenger of Blood" written by Miguel Batista. I also had to have a bible for reference too look up some of the things he was refering to in the book. I had to get it on amazon because the book was not sold in the book stores close to my home. And yes it is Miguel Batista the MLB pitcher.
