Do you get enough sleep?

United States

I know I don't! I work night shift and am up with my son during the day, so there are a lot of days that I only sleep for a total of four hours, often broken up into two smaller naps. I used to think I needed at least eight to nine hours of sleep a night! It's amazing what the human body can get used to. Someday, maybe in a few years, I'll go back to getting enough sleep, but for now I guess I have to make do with my four hours...

I get sleepy at times, but I usually get a second wind (and third and fourth :). Five hours doesn't sound much better than my four! Thanks for responding!

woo,it's too bad for you,4 hours sleep every day is too little than enough,I can not imagine how you engage the jobs and the other things daily,we all need about 8 hours sleep one day, that's our physical structure.you should try to take care of yourself, long time less sleep will lead to unhealthy condition

I know it's not good for me, but right now unfortunately it's what I need to do. I look forward to the time when I can get more sleep regularly, but I think it's a few years away. In the meantime, I live for the one day a week or so when I get good sleep!

well sleeping is so imp. for everyone and atleast 7-8 hrs all shud get sleep everyday. tht really helps the next day for a fresh start. well sometimes i might not sleep in the afternoons, might sit with the internet. but then i try to get my 7-8 hrs sleep in the night. I am sure it is tough otherwise for me. the days i get up early in the morning becomes really bad and I wud feel sleepy everytime on tht day. i really understand working night shifts is the worst, and when u have a boy it is surely tough. take care

You're so right that everyone should get that much. I wonder what percentage of people actually do though? That's great if you're able to - thanks for responding!

Hello michmich2! I don't work too and that I just stayed at home but honestly, most of the time I don't have enough sleep. Every night I sleep at about 11 - 12 am and wake up at 7 - 8.

I need 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep a night to function at 100%. Dream on! I have a 6 month old daughter (she is 6 months today) and she keeps me rocking and rolling at night. If someone offered me a sleep holiday, I'd be so happy! :-)
