Trees grow fast. Every year the branches need to be trimmed to keep good shape, and nearby windows are not shadowed too much. We see workers climbing high or use long banboo tools with hooks at the end to cut the branches. Do you trim your trees?

I trim all my trees each and every spring of the year. I have the long hooked tool (pruner) that you're talking about, and also several other types of pruners. I think it's necessary to prune them in the spring so that their growth is more orderly and to give them a better shape. I also trim all my hedges and shrubbery each spring. Most of them can be trimmed in the spring before the growth starts again, but some of them have to wait until after blooming (or you cut the blooming ends off.) I'm lucky...the giant old maples out by the roadside are kept in trim by the road crews, so I don't have to worry about them!
