People say that black cat's bring unfortune do you think so?

Isn't it the other way around? Black cats are meant to be lucky.

I don't think black cats mean anything at all..its just a cat..personally, I would love to own a black cat..they seem so much more serious than other types..I've been around them lots of times and nothing bad has taken place..I always wondered where that whole myth of bad luck and black cats came from..

I agree with you. I do not think that black cats bring misfortune. When the Pilgrims arrived at Plymouth Rock, they brought with them a devout faith in the Bible. They also brought a deepening suspicion of anything deemed of the devil. Comprised of Englanders and Europeans, these pilgrims were a deeply suspicious group. They viewed the black cat as a companion, or a familiar to witches. Anyone caught with a black cat would be severely punished or even killed. They viewed the black cat as part demon and part sorcery.

i don't think so either. thats are redicolous as saying that black people are people of the devil, as was thought like 100 yrs ago by white people during slavery.

I don't think they do. I think they are usually sweethearts. Black and white cats have the best personality IMO.

No way... I don't think black cats bring unfortune. Maybe if someone believes it strong enough, then misfortune will come their way since they wish it. I've had a black cat for the past 3-4 years. My cat hasn't caused any misfortune for me. lol

The belief is if you cross a black cat its unlucky...I personally think its silly but whatever..I LOVE black cats and my newest baby "Ostara" is black and far from unlucky;-)

well it depends upon u... what kinda person are u.... if u r superstitius then it matters if not then it doesnt matter

they were associated with witches back in the dark ages so i think that's why they have today such a bad reputation. me and my boyfriend finally agreed we're gonna get a cat this year, and i kinda liked the idea of having a black one, but he refuses. anyway i don't think they bring bad luck

Well, black cats aren't so dangerous. But we have many tales abot them. So for example witch will use black cat for some magic activities. One other thing is cat will sleep on the place with more negative energy.

some people say that black cats are bad luck, but i think that's silly. they're really only bad luck if they cross your path. if that happens, you need to turn around and not take that path, or wait for that cat or another black cat to cross your path in the opposite direction. I think it might also work if you have a white cat cross your path in the same direction that the black cat did - or is that a white dog? horse?

ive got a black cat he brought his own misfortune when he stood in front of a car when he was a kitten.hes now got 3 legs but hes 6 now and manages just fine he can still climb and do everything cats like to do
