If you are planning your vacation to Norway sometime. This is a guide to what to see, and what is cool about Norway. 1st Norway is a very large country with only 4,7 million people widely spread over the beautiful fjords, islands, farms, cities & small towns. Norway's largest cities are Oslo (capital), Bergen, Trondheim & Stavanger. What is there to see in Norway? There are a lot of mountains in Norway, there are several national parks & the fjords are a must see. You can take a cruise with Hurtigruten from Bergen to Tromso. That is the length of norway (not all of course). Nature: Norway is famous for the nature, as i said earlier Hurtigruten goes the seaway around Norway. It is ranked as one of the finest cruise tours in the world. You should see: Dovre - a national park in the highlands. Jotulhugget- a big hole in the ground said to be created by one of the viking gods. Geiranger fjorden - (Unescos World heritage). Røros - a old mining town, has a desert too. The islands of the north in Norway. The further north you go in Norway there more hospitality & friendly people. WARNING! If you visit the North of Norway during the winter, it will be totally dark & during the summer it's bright all day & night. Cities: Oslo: is the capital. A messy place no more interesting then other capitals. But you should see the castle, the opera & frognerparken. If you have time take the boat to nesodden (from aker brygge). The boat trip is very beautiful & the nature over there is an experience. You should go clubbing @: Stratos (youngstorget) - A club on the roof with view all over Oslo. Internasjonalen (youngstorget)- A club built on the old traditional politics of the workers movement. Blå - A indie club righ beside the river of Oslo. Old factory remade to a club. If you're lucky you can go the garage right beside it. If their open you can buy cheap beer & dance to balkan beats all night. Mono (youngstorget) - Old indie/rock club with a lot of unknown/known Norwegian bands. Coffee Shops: * Java espresso bar (St.Haugen) - Excellent coffee. * Tim Wendelboe (Grünerløkka)- Also excellent coffee and right beside the cuba park. Trondheim: The old capital in Norway. Has history that goes back to over 1000 years ago. Must See: Nidarosdomen (Center of town) - The cathedral made of stone. Munkholmen (Center Of Town) - Take the boat to an island on the fjord. The old city jail & hangout for munks. The fjord (Trondheimfjorden) is special because they have found a tropical rev hundreds of meters below the sea. Bakklandet (center of the town): The old town. Clubbing: Solsiden - A place packed with coffee shops, shops & diners. Brukbar (Center of the town)- a club with rockabilly diner, disco, bar & classy resturant. Pias Cafè (Center of the town)- a nice place with great atmosphere. If you like Jazz you can meet a lot of jazz musicians over there. Both famous & underground. Loads of artistic & creative persons from all over the world. Dokkhuset (Solsiden) - A place where jazz musicians from all over the world play, hang & party. If you can go to the north of Norway. Take the train, it only goes to bodø. A small town in the north. I would advice you to go of in Mosjøen and see the beautiful mountain that is out there. If you take the bus to sandnessjøen (Hurtigruten also stops there) i would advice you to take the boat to mindland. A very beautiful place without shops, just 50 persons living out there. Go back before the boat takes the night:-) Tromsø is the biggest town in the north. A very beautiful town surrounded by mountains. You can only visit tromsø by car, bus plane or boat. It is a very cool town packed with positive people and a great atmosphere. Alta. Small town in the north has a university. If you like fishing & hiking then this is the place to go. You can only go there by plane. Longyearbyen - Wow, if you get permission to get there then you're lucky. You can only come to longyearbyen by plane. It has 50% taxes and are very cheap compared to the rest of Norway. There are icebears out there and it's wildlife. You must have a guide if you choose to leave the town, it is very dangerous to go in the wild because of the icebears and the thick snow. This is the rough guide to Norway. In Norway things cost loads of money, and it is one of the richest countries in the world. Norway trades a lot of oil & natural gas. Hope you like it.

Maybe You should/Maybe you should not. Oslo is not really more different then other capitals. It's a soup of different nationalities & loads of noise. People are stressed & the traffic goes around the clock. But it has some nice sides too. Depending on what you want:-)

I have been to lovely Norway and really like your travel guide. I went to Narvik in the north on a train from Sweden. It was cold up there but really beautiful. Then I went to Oslo, the capital city. That was fascinating and next I took a train to Bergen. It was a stunningly scenic ride past fjords and ponies. I loved it in picturesque Bergen. I found the prices expensive but the beauty was worth the price.

Hello Maximax8. Thank you very much. It seems like you've had a great trip. I have never been in Bergen myself, but would like to. Narvik is very nice, but it's very cold. Yes, the prices are very expensive but if you can afford it it could be a very nice trip. The west of Norway is very new to me, so i have not had the time to go there yet.
