I can't stop thinking why anyone would send their gold to this low-ball company

Have you seen this commercial where you mail in your gold for cash? They even have a tv commercial that played during the Superbowl with Ed McMahon and MC Hammer. (both of them went broke once). Well, some people decided to put them to the test and did their own research looking for the best deal for their gold and it turned out that the company cash for gold had the lowest payout and when they asked for the gold back, the company tried to offer more to them. Pawnshop appraisal $198, Cash4Gold $60 and raised it to $178 when asked for return. So, if you are thinking about shipping your unused gold for quick cash, think again!

I know what you mean I would just take mine to a pawnshop. The first time I seen it I was thinking...why would someone send it thu the mail (which I don't like the idea of anyway) withoout knowing how much money would be sent in return?

I don't watch tv so luckily missed this commercial. That is awful because gold is the ONLY safe thing to invest in right now.

Yes, I hear you don't get much form thoise companies, a friend of mine told me it was a rip off. You can get more from the Pawn Shop. I wouldn't advise anyone to trade their gold for money. from these companies, because they will get ripped off.

HI yparson, thanks for this information. It seems that big companies do thrive on people who are in dire need of cash. Your postings do set you thinking about when pawning gold items for cash.

Well they usually have a website. They tell you what they pay for the gold and like you said it's very low unless you tell them that "X" place will give you more money or ask for your gold back. It's good to do if you are desperate for money and I'd send the products CMRR (Certified Mail Receipt Requested). That's where they have to sign the little green card to get the product & it might as well be good to insure it as well. I would definitely check on eBay or pawn shop before giving it over to them! You may be able to get more money those places than with these companies. Cheers! Pablo

I am really shocked to hear anything of this kind. I do not know much about it but still I feel that how is this possible.

Somehow, this isn't something I'd trust the Post Office with. Even with an excellent company, too many things are lost in the mail. And, of course, when you aren't there in person, they can easily claim you sent less than you did! Good thing you found out about them and let the rest of us know!

There are so many places you can go locally, I can not see why anyone would trust anyone to send them money in the mail. How would you verify that they recieved it. People are so foolish sometimes and trust anyone, not me!
