Hard Riddle

A man Looks out a dirty soot filled window, on the 33rd floor. Faced with so much depression. He thrust open the window & jumped through. It was a sheer drop outside the building to the ground.After he landed he was completely unharmed. Since there was absolutely nothing to cushion his fall, HOW did he survive???????? Riddle Me ThiS

the first 32 floors of the building were underground so he simply stepped out the window on to the ground.

The house was burned down? That would also explain why he was depressed if it was his house,lol.
