I am a member of freecycle which is through Yahoo!. It is a website where you can donate things and request things for free or a nominal charge. I just wanted to share this email that I received from a member here in the Sacramento, CA area. Kids are really such amazing people with hearts of Gold!

My children have decided to take on a special project, so I have agreed to help them with their cause. As the cold weather approaches, there are many homeless on the streets without coats and gloves. Sorry this is longwinded, but I wanted to let you all know the cause.
My daughter saw a young girl walking in downtown sacramento near loaves and fishes the other day with her arms crossed. It was very cold and wet outside. She asked me why her mom doesn't give her a coat. I didn't have an explanation other than to explain that not all children are as fortunate as we are and they don't all have money for coats and gloves. She started to cry and asked me to stop the car. She got out of the car and before I could stop her, she got out of the car and ran down the block. She came back without her own coat and told me that she wanted to find more coats for other people. Flabbergasted, I didn't know what to do, other than support her request for my help. So, here I am asking for your help.
My children would like to gather and distribute coats and gloves for homeless. They plan on personally handing out every coat they collect to someone that needs one.
If you have any coats (even windbreaker type jackets or hooded zipper sweatshirts) and gloves that you are not using, I would like to take them off of your hands.

Amazing isn't it. Do you have any stories like this one?
