How many times do you wash your face in a day?

It is simple one this time. While we cover our entire body with clothes, our face remains exposed thorough out the day, even if it is winter or rainy season. During the course of the day lots of invisible dust and dirt particles get accumulated on our face, by evening or say by the end of the day, a thin layer of dirt is formed on the surface of our face. Washing our face even with plain water helps remove the hidden dirt. How often do you wash your face in a day? Do you wash it with plain water or do you use some face wash to cleanse the dirt? Also, does it also happen with you that you remain too busy to wash your face except while bathing? During the day time, as and when I get an opportunity to go to wash room, I keep washing and splashing my face and in the evening, when I go back to my home from my office, I invariable wash my face with a gentle soap or face wash. It makes me feel better and it refreshes me and I feel that my pores of my face are also breathing. What do you do? Please share. Thanks in advance.

because i live in a summer climate all year round, i basically wash my face as and when i feel tired. But on a more standard procedure, i wash my face every morning when i brush my teeth just when i wake up. As well as just before i hit the sacks, also while i brush my teeth.
I normally use a facial wash to wash my face if not i won't feel "Clean" enough.

So you wash your face as and when required and it may be more than once in a day. Facial wash makes you more clean, this is what you feel. Thanks for sharing.

yes the facial wash makes my face really smooth and soft also. i really like using it but i don't remember to use it every day. i just use it alternately with bar soap. usually what i see on my bathroom is what i am going to use on my face. anyways, i will try to use the facial wash again instead of the bar soap. but i do wash my face at least once a day. i don't want to wash my face many times in a day cause i don't want to sip my face of natural oil and makes it look dry.

I wash my face three times a day-once when I brush my teeth first thing in hte morning -then I wash my face with plain water and splash this cold water on my face.Secondly wehn I have my bath.Last, it would be in the evening .If I happen to take a light nap in the afternoon, then I would wash my face immediately instead of the evening ritual [with soap]/this wouldbe around 3/4 oclock in the afternoon/evening.

It is alright to wash face in the morning and before you go to sleep. However, if you happen to go outside, do you wash your face, when you come back?

Not always. If I go out to buy something then it would be late in the evening and I do not wash my face soon after I come back.On the other hand , on the rare occasions that I go in the afternoon ,I wash my face.Come to think of it,I feel we should wash our face soon after we come home. Our place is terribly poluted and I am sure this will help the face a lot in not accumulating dust , if we wash soon after we come home irrespective of the time.

I agree with you that if we return from some outside business, it would be better to wash our face because pollutants play havoc with our facial skins and eyes, I believe.

It is good that you keep refreshing yourself.....and you believe in washing your face with plain water, instead of using soap etc. frequently. Yes, you caught the point, which I was trying to emphasise that if we wipe our face with soft white cloth or cotton, we see a lot of dirt, which otherwise remains invisible to us.

In winter its four times…in the morning only with water, while bathing with cleanser, evening back home again with cleanser and at night before bedtime, only with water. In summer the frequency increases as I also wash twice in office…I carry a small tube of cleanser for this.

HI! Sudipta!
How are you?
It is good that you keep refreshing yourself.....atleat four times in a day, that too in winter. It means you are very consious about your face and hygiene.
Does cleanser make a different impact than a soap wash on your face or both serve the same purpose?
Thanks for dropping in.

More than being conscious Deepak, I need to refresh myself coz sometimes I feel very sleep in office, specially after lunch hour. Also working on the computer non-stop (mylot included) is not very good for the eyes. So I go to splash water on them.
Yes, I do think and feel that cleansers are better than soap…soap does tend to make the face so dry. I use a normal cleanser from Himalaya regularly…its both affordable and effective.

Mayka! Even if you sit in an airconditioned room, the invisible dirt particles keep sticking to your face. It is possible that your city's weather remains hot and humid so you grab less dirt....!! But please try to wash your face during day time and please wipe it with small white handerchief or towel and check if you could find any dirt on it.
Thanks for joining and sharing.

Atleast thrice a day. There are times when i go out and if i have been out a long time then would wash my face when i come indoors. Then there are times that i wash my face to freshen myself up after i have been constantly working on something and feel a little drowsy or tired. It also depends on the weather. In the summer the tendency is to wash the face as often as i can.

On week days when I have to go to work, I wash my face in the morning, apply light make up and enter my office which is air conditioned. So I don't sweat or get exposed to dust or dirt so there is not need to wash face again and again. When I reach home I go for bath so obviously wash my face., and also before going to sleep I was my face as I have to apply some moisturizer to remain soft. But I remember when I was in India and was not working, I use to wash my face every half an hour and take bath about 5 times as it use to be so hot in Ahmadabad.....boiling hot.

It is good to know that you remain in airconditioned enviornment and you are not exposed to dust and dirt, as we are, and you do not require to frequently wash your face, specially, when you are in your office. You are right, it depends upon the weather and climatic conditions, prevailing at a particular place.
Do you take bath in the evening only, when you return from your office or do you take it for the second time in the evening?
Many thanks for enriching the post with your thoughts.

It is good that you as a man is also conscious of your face? That sounds great to you dpk. Since my face is my fortune I have from the very beginning taken great care about my face. I would give it a monthly special treat to go for facial and other things that entail the upkeep of my face. When am at home I don't keep washing my face as I believe it will strip away the natural oils in the face and will in no time dry out your face. Wrinkles love to creep into dry skin in the face even though you rub tons of moisturizer to your face. so beware. Cleanliness is one but should not make it a habit of washing too frequently. My daily routine is to wash my face twice. Before going to sleep and on waking up. After washing I rub thin virgin coconut oil to my face.

Zandi!
Yes, I remain conscious of my face and skin and I takes due care of it. It is good to know that you go for regular facial to tone up your face and make you look 'beautiful' and healthy.
I partially agree with your argument that frequent washing could strip away the natural oils from our face. May be you are right. My skin is very oily and it keeps attracting dirt. However, I write my views, based on the dusty and polluted climate and envoirnment prevailing in my city. If I do not wash my face, when I reach from office to my home or from home to office, I find a thin layer of dust get stuck on my face. If I wash my face and I wipe it with a white hanky, it turns dark because of the invisible dirt on my face. I sometimes donot wash my entire face during the day time, I just splash some water on my eyes to get rid of tiredness and monotony.
Thanks for sharing your views and for enriching the post with your virgin coconut oil...........!!

It depends really on the degree of dirt I think I have in my face.
I usually wash my face during baths, usually in the morning. Then if I'm really around town and it's humid here and I feel that my face is icky then I'd probably wash up in the office or when I get home.
Then usually after dinner as I'm about to sleep, since I shower that time, I also wash my face.
I use facial wash as well, plus other stuff I put on my face in the mornings and night time to be sure that it's clean.

Yes, degree of dirt is related to the fact that how many times do we wash our face. You appear to be consious about your face and take its due care.

It depends on season. In winter I am very lazy to wash my face many times. I wash my face only three times I think (morning while brushing, taking bath and just before sleep). But in summer I used to wash my face many times. In summer I am using some natural ingredients for cleaning the skin but in winter am not bothered much. As you aware that in summer the skin is become sticky by sweating (Dust is also there). We are getting refreshed by splashing water on face and eyes. In winter because of the cool climate we keep refreshed all the time even without putting the water on face.

Please do be lazy.......LOL! In winters too we need to wash our face, specially when we are exposed to dirt and dust. It keeps accumulating on our face. I agree in summers we are required to wash our face more frequently, because of the weather conditions.

Twice a day, in the morning when I shower and last thing at night when I brush my teeth before bed. I live in Australia and it does get hot here so washing my face does cool me down and I feel refreshed. It's a good idea to rinse your face whenever you feel tired too, I guess.

Hello deepak! Honestly, I wash my face once or twice. Sometimes, I was too busy that all I have to do is change my clothes and went back to sleep. Facing the computer is a little bit tiring and that they said that it's not advisable to wash your face after how many hours of facing the computer. So I usually wash my face in the morning.

Hello! Aisa!
It is good that you keep refreshing yourself.....atleast twice in a day.
But I am surprised to know that who told you that it is not good to wash your face after using computer. In fact, washing our face, after we are done with computer, would be refreshing for our eyes and skin, I do not think, there is any harm in it. You please give it a try and then let me know.

I wash my face two times a day, before leaving the house and before going to sleep. I used ponds facial wash because it leaves a smooth feeling on my cheek and it makes it rosy. I also used ponds night cream to moisturize it.

I wash my face twice per day. Once in the morning, and once in the evening. Obviously I will wash it another time as well if I have a shower for some reason in the middle of the day, or if I am planning on going out anywhere special. But I will wash it at least twice a day. In the morning, I will use soap and water, and then moisturise, but in the evening I have to use make-up remover, as I wear makeup during the day.

I wash my face first thing in the morning and before retiring to bed with a facial wash. I do not wash my face during the course of the day. I wear moisturizer and makeup so if I washed my face often all I would get done is applying moisturizer and or makeup. I would think washing your face very often wouldn't be good for your skin as it would be very drying unless you applied moisturizer every time you washed your face. I don't have that much time in a day.

Hello Dpk.....Well I wash my face with soap three times day, twice when I am having my bath in the morning and evening, and also before going to bed.The rest of the time I just splash water on my face when ever I feel, and especially in summer....But I am told too much of washing with soap is not good for the skin, as soap tends to dry the skin. And though its recommended to use a gentle face wash to soap,I still use soap, since I cannot give up my age old habit. In my younger days there was no face wash available in the market, and so I still stick to soap, becasue old habits die hard...........

I have to wash my face daily, because I travel around 70 kms in public transport bus on dusty roads for my industrial training. It is frustrating to let the dust hang onto your face for so long thus I like to do that once I am back from work.
However, during summers, I wash my face multiple times a day, sometimes even four times, because I like to keep my face oil free and glowing all the time.It gives me confidence when I look into the mirror with a clean shaved, washed face :)

I only wash my face twice a day.First is in the morning when i get up,and second is in the evening before i go to bed.Because my skin is very dry,so i do not like to wash face more times,or i will feel my face more drier. But in the summer,i will wash face for many times in a day,due to the hot weather and sweat
