I'm making a survey actually as our ISPs here suck big time. What is is the ISP ( Internet Service Provider ) that you are using? How much do you pay monthly? What is the speed? What is the max speed they provide & how much? Any links to those sites where they have the pricing? Our ISPs here are disgustingly slow to the point they shoo off potential investors, so sad

I am using BSNL's dataone broad band connection.I am under home 5ooc plan and I can surf upto 1.5gb and that costs me Rs.560/- per month including taxes. The speed should be 1gb as they have told. But I don't think I really get that speed as my place is situated far away from the exchange.Cheers!

I use cox communications at home and at work..I can't tell you exactly how fast it is but it's faster than most of the sites I go to! It's $119.95 a month at work and is supposed to be the faster you can get and it's just recently gone up to $43.95 here at the house and it's very fast..Faster than when I had Verizon DSL. This is cable. I do have the max speed avaialble for residential and for business and it is rarely down and then, only for a few minutes. I am very satisfied with it.

CableCool!~ Sounds very promising. I've checked out the max. speeds:
Download Speed* Upload Speed *
DSL up to 7 Mbps up to 1 Mbps
Cable up to 15 Mbps up to 2 Mbps
I really wouldn't mind paying for the service!~ I don't think we have all these in our country

Actually in our country internet service is very expensive. I pay RS 1000 for 128 kb/s which is equal to 15$ per month. So I cant imagine to earn money through online.

Wow!~ That's insanity!~ And I thought ours is already so expensive. With what you're paying, you can get about 10 times the speed from where we come from. At first I thought you were from India when you put RS but I thought the gap couldn't be that big & as I checked, I realized you're from Nepal. Could it be due to the geography of your country as I understand it's mountainous from where you come from?

Not due to geography but due to the less service provider in our country. So they have therir own monopoly policy. I think thats only reasons. This is the cheapest one you can find more costly than this also. The service which I am using is provided by Telecom Service and this is the cheapest in their sell. For other service provider we have to pay more than that. Double or Tripple or more.....

for personal use ,just in beijing ,the bandwidth is 1m, and i'll spend 120RMB(about 20usd) a month.
the speed is not so fast. if u download files, the normal speed is about 90kb/s, and in the companies or offices, the bandwidth is 100M.
