why is music unbearable nowadays?

Music at one time was excellent but everything seems to sound the same nowadays with stupid bands who don't create there own music and kids dressed up older than what they are...why is the music industry so ridiculous? what caused the change in what people wanted to listen to or is it the music moguls that have decided what that is?

I went through like three years of feeling like there was no good music out there but it was mostly because mainstream radio doesn't play anything different. All mainstream songs' lyrics are repetitive and lack content. There are a few services I use now to discover new music but the best one is easily They play a ton of obscure bands and I've become a huge fan of many of them and of the station itself.

I agree that most of the mainstream music is hard to stomach, but there are good bands still out there, they just take some time to find. The music companies tend to focus on the younger generation (I am of this generation, but still don't like the music) and the music is meaningless a lot of the time. I find that some of the best bands are Indie bands who have been rejected. Newer artists are having a hard time, but I am proud of Lady Antebellum, a country group with meaningfull lyrics that are doing pretty well for themselves. Good luck in your search (and if you were ever a fan of Savage Garden the lead singer, Darren Hayes, went solo. He has some amazing songs, and some interesting ones).

I don't know but I have to assure you that all music nowadays isn't unbearable but all of the mainstream music is definitely hard to listen too. I think that there are some great song writers perhaps the greatest I've ever heard from the nineties and this generation for example The Mars Volta and The Dillinger Escape Plan.

I have noticed this too, both in main stream, and christian. But there are a few here and there that are pretty original.
