Have you ever had a gourmet hamburger? I know there are restaurants that specialize in them (like Red Robin), but I have never had one. There are so many unique recipes I've seen for hamburgers, but I've only had normal burgers. If you have had any gourmet burgers, at a restaurant or at home, what was on/in them that made them unique? Would you recommend it?

Wow!! You have never had a Gourmet burger anywhere? That is hard to believe, and I feel you owe it to yourself if you can to go somewhere soon and try one. I know I enjoy the chance from time to time to go somewhere and get one. For me one of my alltime favorites is a mushroom melt from Red Robin. It has Lettuce, Pickles, Tomato, Mushrooms and Cheese layered all over your hamburger and they use a special seasoning, and it is so Good. The thought of one makes me want one even. There are also other places I have tried gourmet burgers that had things like sprouts, avocadoes, etc. on them that were delicious as well.

You can go to there website and look at the menu. That is what I did before I went to Red Robin for the first time. They have a picture and a description of all of their burgers. Some sound very unusual.

Sprouts and avocados are definitely some different toppings for a burger. I only recently ever even heard of Red Robin, but I did see one near a mall that I went to, so if I ever get a chance to stop by it, I will.

I have eaten at Red Robin quite a few times. I didn't find it THAT impressive. I'm a die hard 5 Guys kind of girl though. I think they have the best burgers by far. I had their burger that has bacon and a fried egg on it. It sounds really gross but its really good. Its different. I would probably like them better if they had good fries.

I have never heard of 5 Guys. A fried egg on a burger is definitely unique. It would be something interesting to try.

Red Robin has a burger like that. I was tempted to try it, but I didn't. Maybe next time. I think the toppings at Red Robin make the burger. The burger itself is not that good.

Go to your butcher. Get some fresh ground beef. Take it home, make a huge round disk, cook it - you have a gourmet burger, it is easy and cheap to make at home and fresh beef is SO much tastier!

I have eaten at Red Robin twice. The first time I had the Whiskey River BBQ burger which had BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, crispy onion straws, lettuce, mayo, and tomato. The last time a few weeks ago I had the Sautee'd Shroom burger. It was almost as good as the BBQ burger. It was loaded with sautee'd mushrooms and Swiss cheese.

I'm not a big fan of bbq usually, but that burger sounds pretty good.
