books...??

the public library has works of art you can check out. But here at the university library all I see is students standing in line at the printer, and others studying and writing (like I should be doing)

i think ive taken this question a lil differently then some of the other people that responed - I look around and i see a girl in her teens - studying for a big test, or writing notes on a project she has to do for school - i see a mom in her mid 20's looking for her next book to read with a little one at her feet. i see an older man - in the history section looking at world war II books. its amazing what you can see at a library. i like to people watch. to see what it might be like to be in their shoes for a minute. very interesting question!

In a library nearby to my house there would also be an elevator, desks with librarians behind them (including one for the New library card applications) a photocopying machine, 6 - 8 computers, stairs, couches, a section for kids, an office for administrative purposes. I would probably also see other people.
