I purchased a first leap pad for my daughter's birthday last Feb 9 2008, and she loves it. I'm from Philippines and I purchased that learning toy from ebay coz that leap pad is not available in all Malls that I visited here. Leap pad helps my child not being bored when she plays with it, she learns ABC's, recognizing colors and shape while playing with it. I'm wondering if parent's out there let their child learn ABC's from toys they bought or do you think that our hands on teaching is still the best for our child for their readiness in school?

OH boy, my son got one of those last year and LOVES it !! Plays with it for hours. I had to buy rechargeable batteried though, because I was going through so many normal ones. LOL. We got him a VTECH this year and he loves it too. They really do learn a lot from them.

That is a good idea that you bought that leap pad for your daughter. It is good in the aid of the building blocks of life. It is great for the preparation of her future.
I also believe that along with your supervision and guidance your daughter will learn a lot in a short time. Just as long as you and her stay dedicated to learning I think that learning from toys and even educational television will be very helpful in her young life.
My son has a little computer and he has learned a lot from that along with some television that has interaction included just to keep the child's mind focused.

trully, my daughter know how to count 1-10 and can sing ABC's after a week of playing with her first leap pad. She can't sleep at night without her leap pad on her side.
