Does your employer provide you with lunch at a reduced rate?

Mine does. Boy am I ever so grateful for the meals we have here as well. We get a choice of a soup or salad, 2 fountain drinks and the choice of the deli bar or a hot entree. Today's entree is Blackened Grouper over wild rice and capri vegetables. The price of employee meals are just $3. You can't get a real meal like that anywhere in our city for that price. How does your employer do?

In my company, rice is provided freely during lunch time. For viand, my office mate's mother cater during lunch time. It matter's since food around the vicinity of the office is quite expensive. We will just pay for a whole week's meals for each lunch.

I've never had an employer provide lunch on a regular basis. Sometimes we got free lunches for special occasions like Christmas and stuff, but most of the time you were completely on your own.

This one used too, but rather than take it away from the employees altogether, they decided to ask the employees to pitch in to defray the total food expenses a bit.

My employer is generous enough to provide us meals at very reduced rates. In fact, the longer you stay at the office, the longer you work, more is the no. of meals on which you get discount. We pay less than half the market price for each meal, which is really a sweet gesture from the Office people. True, they are also getting benefits out of us but even then, not every office takes care of its employees like this

Our meals once were FREE, but rather than take it away from the employees altogether, they decided to ask the employees to pitch in to defray the total food expenses a bit. Even if they started charging us $5, but I hope it doesn't come to that.

That sounds great. I wish my employeer did. I think our job does everything they can to get more money out of us. We got an expresso machine for the pres of the company. He invited anyone that wanted some to feel free to have some. Then about 4 months later started charging for it. Now that everyone is hooked they have to pay extra for the coffee that was once free. It had come to be expected. Enjoy your discounted lunches!!

Our meals once were FREE, but rather than take it away from the employees altogether, they decided to ask the employees to pitch in to defray the total food expenses a bit. I don't blame them at all and am very thankful that we still have a place to eat, even if they started charging us $5, it would still be worth it, in my opinion, although, I hope it doesn't come to that.
