Joanna Pacitti is a contestant on American Idol who realeased an album on Geffen Records in 2006 called, 'This Crazy Life.' The album, which has been featured on Joanna's reality show on MTV, The Hills, Laguna Beach and CW shows has sold 15,000 copies. Since then, Pacitti has been dropped from her record label and remains in the running to be the next American Idol. To add to this, the girl refers to two Idol producers as her 'managers' and 'best friends.' Not to mention a failed stint at broadway she had when she was 12 years old, Joanna was fired from the lead role of Annie. What do you think, is it fair for this girl to be on the show that has made hometown amatuers like Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood superstars? Does this mean that if Christina Aguilera or Britney Spears get dropped from their record labels they can compete on 'Idol?' How do you think the other contestants who waited on line for 12 hours and another 12 hours in the stadium feel about Joanna Pacitti's golden ticket on a silver platter? Will the American public let Idol get away with this one, or will they send her packing? I definitely don't think this is fair for a number of reasons! How crazy is it that I had her version of 'Screaming Infedelities' on my MySpace at one point?

I think its awful and she should be elminated if she hasn't been already. When my hubby and I watched the group night last week we didn't even see her, so I look forward to seeing if she's on tonight. American Idol fans have been a bit up in arms about this chick for a few weeks now, by the way. My Husband loves her and sees nothing wrong with her continuing, but I disagree. I am guessing that they will put her through to the top 24 (or whatever they are doing this year) and let America judge, which may be the only fair way to do it at this point. I think America will give her the boot. This is a show to discover new talent!

no, it isn't fair to the contestants that are ametuers on the show. I don't think that anyone that has had an album out should be a contestant on the show. The same thing happened last year when it became public that Carly had been on a label before. I don't think that this girl will go far on the show either as I think that the public will vote her off as they learn the truth about her.
I have never heard of her before, but I don't listen to much pop music. I mainly listen to older rock or country. I do like Kid Rock, but that is not the same style of music.
We will have to wait and see what is going to happen this year and see if the competition is fair or not.

It's clear the competition has never been fair, I mean look at the rounds leading up to the first round the public sees. I really hope the public sees the truth and does not vote for this girl. However Idol has been doing great damage control and not that many people have heard about it.

The biggest reason it is not fair, is one of the Idol producers had previously been her manager. Which means, she was more then likely able to skip the difficult beginning 3 rounds and sail right through to Simon, Randy, Kara and Paula. She probably has made it thus far because of that particular producer. Let's face it, the producers are the ones who are REALLY doing the judging and choosing who will make it to the next round. It's unfair to the other contestants as well and changes the competition from what it's been.
