How well do you think this is going to go over? They are trying to ban all smoking out doors it seems. Do you feel that your rights are being taken away?

i dont smoke, and i hate the smell of the smoke. if a smoker understands and is concern about others then he knows his rights is not violated. sometimes people thinks of themselves only and forget to think about people who are affected of their wrong doing. if they ban smoking at that campus then that is tha campus' rights. they are thinking about health as well.

I am a smoker, and luckily they have not banned smoking on my campus yet. I do not know what I would do if we were not allowed to smoke inbetween classes. I know teachers who smoke as well that would probably be upset over it.
I get banning it in real indoor public places, but when we are outside we should be able to do what we want. No one forces anyone to stand next to someone who is smoking outside. Personally, when I am outside and want to smoke somewhere, if there are people around me who are not smoking I always ask if it is okay if I light up, maybe people should have this courtesy and they wouldnt be trying to ban it in certain areas.
Of course, if smoking were banned on campus, my campus might not look like a giant ash tray. We had snow on the groud for a few weeks here and everyone decided snow was the new ashtray. Well all the snow melted and there are cig butts everywhere and its disgusting.
Smokers should smoke responsibly and these bans would no longer be such good ideas.
