A year or so ago my friend and her husband spent a couple of hundred dollars for a lifetime membership to Sirius radio. I told her at the time it was a bad idea...you never do that with a business that can fail...but she didn't listen to me. Today I heard on the news that Sirius is planning to file for Chapter 13 bankruptcy protection. If they go off the air how many other folks will lose the money they paid? Are you a subscriber?

Yes we have Sirius and we were going to go with a lifetime membership, I can't remember how much it was at the time but, within a few years it would pay for itself. I believe we pay about $20 a month for it. My husband travels all day long for his work and some places he can't get even am radio. I really hope they don't go under because then he will want an IPOD

Siriusly? (sorry)
I have it because it came with my car, prepaid for a year. And it's time to call and find out how much to renew it. So that could be really bad news...

LOL...good one!
When you call see if they have a monthly rate. I wouldn't risk anything longer than that. I told my friend and she wants to kill someone right about now....

They have a monthly rate but it's about $3 less if I renew for 3 years, so I'm taking a chance...
Thanks for the BR.

yeah it was a terrible idea, that was destined to fail no matter what the economy is like. pay for radio? um let me think about it. radio is free, and you want me to pay for it? oh its commercial free? so what? free is free man. Can I start paying for the air I breathe, if you promise to remove all the ***holes from it?
