It never crossed my mind although I have been using this to show that I am sleepy and bored. I dunno. Maybe it is a quiet sound to show that you are sleeping. If you say zzzz, not mouch sound can be heard.

I've always wondered that. it doesn't make any sense. I know snoring doesn't sound anything like zzzz hhaha

That's what I read also from books and magazines even newspapers with cartoons stories. Z maybe signifies the deep sleep and snoring that comes from it. I heard a snoring person many times and it's kinda annoying when you have to wake up with that noise, very irritating to ears and it can really disturb sleeping.

Haha, good question. I have always assumed it was the best way to spell the sound of a snore. I could be wrong.

haha , ive always wondered Y that particular letter Z ? ummm, idk , i guess because of the sound maybe but ehhh , it always stuck with the culture of sleeping i think it should S instead of Z but then if u replace it with S , then it wud be a hissing sound lol

I think that it is meant to signify sleeping. I guess you could say it signifies thoughts that are going through the head, usually dreams that aren't quite sensible. The snoring sound, well, I don't know it's hard to describe.

hello modstar
i know what you mean about seeing a z or a bunch of z's in comic strips. and i really never gave it much thought as to the z sound of making the snoring noise before. lol i have also never heard anything about the letter z like that making the snoring sound. the word snoring starts with the letter s, not z, lol you know? so i have no idea why that they use the letter z like they do in comic strips and such for. but you had a very good point or suggestion of the letter z being using for snoring like that.
take care and have a beautiful afternoon.

I think as a lot of the MyLotters here that it represents the sound of snoring and I agree that real snoring sounds nothing like that! I wish it did! My husband snores so loudly, he sounds like a freight train! If only he just made a ZZZZ sound, then I would not have to kick him out of my bed and into the spare room!

I can see where you can say what does Z have to do with sleeping. Well actually it really doesn't have anything to do with sleeping.
If we look at this a different way the letter Z is at the end of the alphabet right? Well when we go to bed it's the end of our Day. So I would say Z has to do with it because it's the end of our day and Z is the end of the alphabet.
Or so that's what I would think.

You can put it that way. Maybe it is used for the appearances of sleeping.
