I had a taste for some Chili, but I didn't have all the ingredients, so I came up with my own ingredients, Do you ever use what you have in the Kitchen when you don't have all the ingredients? I have did this several times, and It has came all very well. Well, this is what I did, I had some Taco sauce with with meat, I used a can of Beans and used some Bananas Peppers, Onions,Tomatoes, My Seansonings, Salt and Pepper, Chili Powder, and that was it it was good, I let it simmer for about an 1/2 hour. You can put other things on it if you want, I might add some cheese. a few crackers to go with it and that is it. A very good dinner!

I do that all the time, its called cooking. It sounds good too. My granddaugter taught me this for chili. After its all done, crunch up some nacho cheese doritos add that to the chili and also some sour cream, thats really good. I was lazy, I had some scrambled eggs and toast. I am going to make a pork roast tomorrow. That will be some good eating.

When I'm hungry for Chili I go to HEB (supermarket) in South Texas, and get a can of "Wolf Chili (mild) with no Beans." then I pick up a can of "Pork and Beans." Back at the Ranch, I mix em together and warm them in the microwave. For a little change I chop up 4 or 5 wieners and add to the mix as it heats. Chili con Carney is another favorite. Just add fried and browned up hamburger, instead of the wieners.

On chili ... no. I use Carroll Shelby's ingredient ... in his little brown paper bag! That is the best chili ever! He did just recently change from the paper bag (it was really cute and western-y) to a little box, but the contents are what matters! It just doesn't stand out on the grocery shelf anymore and you have to search to find it. But it is the best, I use the WHOLE baggie of cayanne pepper in my crock pot!

Oh yes, I do have these times when I desperately want to try a dish however, may not have all the ingredients. Experimenting with substitutes is what I like and sometimes the final dish may even turn out better than the original:)Here is a nice chili recipe that I am sure you would love www.ifood.tv/recipe/turkey_chili

Turkey Chili, well I have never tried that. I suppose it would be good. I tried sloppy Joes with Turkey Meat, and Meatloaf with Turkey meat.

Wow are you creative. I wouldn't have thought to use banana peppers but it sounds yummy. I'm not the best or the most creative cook in the world and the only time that I find myself just tossing things into a pot to see what happens is when I make soup.
