i read an article recently that boggled me. it says that a 14 year old boy was diagnosed with AIDS after he ate some take out food apparently the food he ate was prepared by a man who has the virus. that man who has aids and did not know it cut his finger and his blood went to the food. is this possible??? it is so alarming. i thought the virus can be contracted by exchange of bodily fluids. the following is the article so read on and tell me your thoughts about it:
"KARATE KID" FAST FOOD WITH AIDS

Makati Philippines - a 14 year old boy was diagnosed with AIDS upon eating in a well known fast food chain in Walter Mart. "KARATE KID" Makati Walter Mart refused to give comment on this issue and so as Makati Medical Center as whre our sources say tgat the AIDS issue came from, the report in Makati City Police district by the angry parents has not been released by unknown reasons.
A 14 year old boy studying in Don Bosco Makati has eaten a fast food take-away about a month ago and fell sick later. When he had his health check done doctors in the Makati Medical Center diagnosed that he had AIDS. His parents couldn't believe it.
Then the entire family underwent check up and none of them was suffering from HIV or AIDS. The doctors checked with the boy if he had eaten out and the boy said he had take-away one afternoon from Walter Mart Makati "a KARATE KID fast food." The hospital team went there to check. They found out that the cook had a cut on his finger while cutting the food ingredient, and his blood has spread in the food.
The blood was unnoticeable. When they had his blood checked the guy was suffering from AIDS but he himself was not aware.
Makati Med and "Karate Kid" refused to comment on the issue but locals who live near the area said that the cook was known as a playboy.

Well the kid might have contracted the disease from some other source. The virus doesn't actually survive not even fraction of seconds in the air.Now after cutting it & then preparing , then serving it would have taken a long time before the kid ate that food...I have gone thro' a lot of stuff on HOW AIDS IS CONTRACTED...but till now therz is no mention about contracting the disease by food. But let me check it again..

Aids can be transfered through blood. so as soon as the boy ate the food with the the blood on it he became infected. poor kid. i would say how could they let a man with aids work in that environment but since he did not know there really isnt much that can be done about it. but i do feel sorry for the boy

yes, i feel terrible also that a boy who has his life ahead of him was robbed the opportunity to live a normal and healthy life. poor parents too! imagine the grief that they are going through. i guess stricter health regulations should be implemented to avoid instances like this or better yet use machines to prepare/ cut the food. whatever step with less human contact as possible should be in place.
