...when certain circumstances force you to? I mean, there are times when people lie not just because they want to. I sometimes tell lie to my friends or family to keep their feelings so they don't get hurt.. is it good or bad? do you think such a thing is forgivable?

It depends of the lies really but I think sometimes it is good to tell "white lies", how you said - to protect your closest people. It doesn't mean that if you tell lies you have done something bad, sometimes it is better for someone to not know things, and by keeping silent you protect your loved ones.
