My First Elance Gig!!!! Exerienced Elancer Advice Wanted

I just landed my first freelance job on Elance doing re-writes!!! I want to scream it to the whole world!!!! My goal is to work up an income of at least $500 per week through my writing and I have finally taken the first step. I joined Elance just a few days ago after reading an article from a lady on HubPages who says she is reaching that goal on Elance doing re-writes. I placed 8 bids to win this one. The original time frame was 6 re-writes in 3 days, now 10 re-writes in 3 days. Of course it would have to happen on a busy week: my brother-in-law is coming to stay tonight (my husband is a fanatic about the house being clean when relatives come over), and my birthday is Friday. Not exactly sure how I can get it to him by Friday, asked buyer to take by Monday. We'll see what he says.... Do you have experience and success at Elance? I would really appreciate any helpful advice you can give me to help me maximize my chances at success. Thanks in advance!
