FGMA - Guilty or Not Guilty?

Almost everyone in the Philippines has read and heard about the First Gentleman's alleged involvement in so many shady and questionable deals of the government which reeks of corruption at the highest level. The latest is of course his alleged involvement in the rigging of bidding procedures in relation to World Bank funded projects. They say where there is smoke there is fire and it seems that the First Gentleman's name always surfaces when questions of corruption, bribery and everything ugly in billion dollar projects are raised. Of course, the Palace and all of their choir members with choir leader Sec Ermita deny top the high heavens the allegations against the President's husband. For his part, he always professes his innocence but avoids confronting his accusers by hiding behind the robes of his doctors who also seem to form part of the choir as back up singers by saying it would be risky for him to appear before the Senate. Does all these convince you of his innocence and stir pity and sympathy in your heart or do you think he is guilty of all the alleged acts of corruption.

Yeah I guess everybody knows that somehow our FGMA has something behind those dealings but so far they are very good in keeping information and evidences at bay so that it would never be opened and reveal the truth. Being a lawyer himself he knows how the hoops and loops in the law to evade from being caught in the act. Also now that he has this health problem he could easily make excuses such as health risk and stress as a good excuse for his heart problems. I think for as long as they are in Malacanan they would be proven innocent and scot free of all the charges thrown at them.

Many people agree with your last statement that while they are in Malacanang they can always get away with everything. And yes, his being a lawyer is serving him in well but his pretensions of being too ill to appear before congress is obviously just that... a pretense especially since everyone knows he can travel all over the world and play golf under the hot sun without danger of being stressed.

I guess he has many alibis to make and this health issues are just one so as not to overuse same excuses over and over again.

for me, FGMA is guilty as he always is. look, if he has nothing to do with all of these mess, why don't he defend himself and tell the people of the Philippines that he's out of these issues? why is he hiding in the hospital in the first place? why he keeps on saying that his doctors are not allowing him to attend senate hearing? its very obvious. if FGMA can give the senate such excuse, then I guess all accused criminals can also give such kind of excuse. what happened to ZTE scandal? again because he refused to attend senate hearing, the case in still pending.

GUILTY OR NOT GUILTY? maybe your guess is as good as mine...sometimes pasaway ang mga asawa. I think PGMA will be better if she's alone...

Definitely she would be better off. Even if he is innocent or not so guilty, the fact that he is mentioned whenever there is a questionable transaction of the government, causes her a lot of damage and even raises suspicions that she is in cahoots with him.

I don't want to judge but it is hard to ignore the different stories telling you one thing - Mike Arroyo's involvement in these government scandals. Is someone or a group doing a demolition job is at work here? But what will his accusers gain in bringing his doom? Okay, let's say he's innocent. However, how come Mike Arroyo has a close relationship with all the people involved in the different fiasco? Is this coincidence at all? Again, I don't want to judge. I will leave that to you friend.

Well as they say where there is smoke there is fire but at the same time they also say a man is innocent until proven guilty. However, as you said, he is always mentioned in all those anomalous transactions so no one can be blamed if he thinks FGMA is guilty. he's lucky the Philippines is a democracy and luckier he is married to the president. That's why they want cha cha to succeed because just imagine when they are no longer in Malacanang what could happen to him.
