Should we pay half price?

If we have stayed in a motel for almost a month, do you think that the manager should allow us to pay half price, instead of the full price? We have been here for a month now. We used to stay in an suite, but that was $50.00 a day. So, we moved to the double room, which is $48.00. I mean, if we are paying and staying without giving any trouble, do you think that we should be allowed to pay half price. Would that be common courtesy of the manager to allow us to pay since we have been staying this long?

Hi cream97,
Well you have been staying there for all that time and yes the manager should only charge you half price but they are money grabing, so chance of that happening. Hugs.

Well, I think that you know they want their nights fee, however, in an extended stay situation, I think they should at least give you a discount. I mean, obviously their motel isnt going to be full every night, so they's be giving you a discount based on the fact that the room would be occupied and paid for ya know?
I mean, I could see if it was a motel that was full every night, then I could see it, but since I assume it isnt one of those, (there rarely are). I think a discount would be nice.
Maybe you could tell them that, in a nice manner, maybe they might give you an extended stay discount.... If not you should look into an extended stay hotel or motel.

Hello cream. I don't have such an experience, but my nephew used to have similar experience when he came to look for a job in the capital city of Zhejiang Province. He shared the hotel room together with another three who came to the city for the same purpose two years ago. They bargained with the hotel owner and it was very cheap for them to hire the room for one month long. So I think that if it is a long time rent, then the price is supposed to be cut down to some degree. Take care, friend.

We negotiated our price after being at a hotel for 2 weeks and we did get a cheaper price or discount so give it a try! I told them that we were here for 2 weeks and need the room for another 2 weeks at least, can you give me a discount? Lo and behold! We got something like 20% off and then the following week we got something like 40% off so by all means, give it a try! Good luck!

hello cream
in my opinion of the matter with your-all's living situation, common courtesy of the manager like that or not, i do not think that the manager of the building in which that you-all are living in now for a month's time should give you-all half price rent for living there like that. but unless that you-all help out in keeping the building clean where that you live by doing some kind of work, like fixing the building up, like in maybe painting, pressure washing, or even doing some kind of maintenance work there. i do not know your-alls situation except for what that you have mentioned to your Mylot discussion. but if you-all were helping out like that where that you live, it would be only fair if the manager of the building there would take that into consideration of knocking some off of your-alls rent.
take care and have a beautiful afternoon.

I am assuming that the managers have enough client's to do whatever needs to be done in and out of this motel. They have to charge us because they need our money so that they can cover what needs to be done around here. And to also pay their workers.. They could not afford to lose any money, let alone let us stay half off..

the nice thing to do would to be to give you a monthly pro-rate,but most hotels/motels don't think that way.business class often gets more discounts even though they usually could well afford it.
the hotels in my area are usually $250-400 per day,and certain seasons they don't discount anybody.

I know its none of my business but why are you staying in a motel in the first place? It seems with the money your spending there you could be using to pay rent for a real house or apartment. I mean if you add it all up, at 50.00 a day, say there's 30 days in a month your paying 1500.00 a month to stay there, but like I said its none of my business why. I don't know why they wouldn't charge you half price for being loyal customers, but I guess they need the money.

theres nothing tht u should pay less or half to the managers even u stay ther for a long period coz its no wer written that if u stay long u'll get a discount
n even y do managers charge u half as they can do it but thn it would get it for every1 n tht can effect its business as he is doing it jst for earning n not for social welfare of the people.........so i dont agree wit it...
