I answered a request on Hub pages that got me thinking about the simplicity of my favorite toys. You can look it up yourself if you need more info but, the basics was this.
My top 5 toys were boxes, sticks, blankets, army men and toy cars. With a little imagination these simple and inexpensive items cave kept me entertained throughout childhood and beyond.
What are some of your favorites and how did the get on that list?

I liked the Breyer horses, I didn't play with dolls, but kind of used the horses like dolls instead. http://www.breyerhorses.com/products/ (not a referal link)
I liked jigsaw puzzles - well, I didn't have a lot of friends - books and things to draw/paint/color with.
I did mention I was horse crazy didn't I?

I can see that working. Aside from the stories you can think of between horses themselves I suppose it's like playing with toy cars and imagining the drivers. Of course with all the horse stories out there it the horses can easily replace people in our imaginations.
