I haven't seen my daughter and grandson for 5 years and now that I'm finally here we are doing some site seeing. California is my favorite place in the world to be even if they weren't here! Yesterday we went to the Trump National Golf Course which is a golf course that is already establishing a strong reputation for its environmental practices. Trump National is dedicated to protecting the environmentally sensitive habitat that plays host to several protected plant species and the endangered Coastal California Gnatcatcher (a small migratory bird).
This was a great place to just take a long walk and see the beauty around us! Being right on the ocean was a big plus for me!
My son wants me to get pictures at the Hell's Kitchen Restaurant which is just down the street from LA Inks tattoo parlor that I want to visit and we plan to do that in a day or two since I'm going to be here for 2 weeks there is plenty of time.
It's the night time when we get to visit and just be together and of course I'm loving that part of my visit.
Do you do any site seeing when you visit relatives or basically stay home?

How lovely to hear that you having such a good time and in good company of your family.!
I do love doing some sight seeing when visting my parents in chile, I havent seen them for 4 years, but I recently went to southamerica for a whole month!
Oh tho I did little going out because my daughter burnt her foot with hot milk, so I had to stay in town to be able to go to her cleaning sessions at the hospital.
But I had the chance to visit the coast and the mountains, some places where you are sourrounded by nature and not a sound of a car or screaming loud ppl. Its lovely to go back to my own roots and admire the same beauty that i left when I moved away, best of all, to be able to share it with my daughter.
Have a lovely time!!!!

That's what I love most about california...it has both mountains and the ocean so we get to pick which we want to see. Then of course there's shopping and that's everywhere you go around here.

When I go to visit relatives I always do some sightseeing. I went to Western Australia to see my cousin that married an Australian man. I spotted off in Hong Kong on the way there and Singapore on the way back. I did my own little independent tour of Western Australia getting up as far as Coral Bay. My cousin lives in Esperance. It is a very isolated town on the southern coast. It is a five to six hour drive east to Albany or a four hour ride north to Kalgoorlie in the desert. Those are her nearest towns and she goes on a yearly shopping trip to Perth. That is a twelve hour drive away. The distances are huge. It was wonderful to see my cousin and the sightseeing was also really great.

I love to site see when I visit relatives. Although, I don't usually have time to go everywhere I want to, I can see at least some of the things that I wanted to see most. I love taking photos, then looking back at them later. What I look forward to more than site seeing is buying souveniers though. I almost always look for items I can bring back home, so I have a piece of the trip along with the photos and memories. Although I'm usually too excited to buy much, I love to visit places.

My family lives in my hometown about 1200 miles away...Although I dont get there as often as I would like to, I absolutely take in time for site seeing..even though I have seen most of it before.I like to see how the place has changed..and what a change...I also like to take my hubby to see things he has never seen before as hes not from the area...I play visitor and tour guide at the same time!

My daughter is the only family member living out of my state other than my sister and she lives not far from my home...she lives in PA and we don't visit each other very often.
