I eat carrots sometimes and my eyesight seems to be getting worse. A friend of mine has been eating carrots all his life and now he wears glasses. DO carrots really help eyesight? I dont want to wear glasses because they are very inconvient. You could lose them or have contacts and they could be forgotten all the time. I dont know...Are there anything else that make eyesight better?

Hi gamingworld. I eat carrots all the time and have 20/20 vision, although that could be just luck. As the old joke goes "Have you ever seen a rabbit wear glasses" I don't really know of any methods to improve your eyesight, I think it just gets worse with age and something we just have to live with.

Eating carrots is good for health. Regarding to your eyesight,i think ,it's likely to have something to do with your sitting position when you are reading books, writing,or playing computer. So far as i know, eating more vegetables, such as leek, spinach, tomato, cucumber, etc, and fresh fruit can protect our eyesight, because the mensions above contain much more vitamin .Other foods which are good for eyesight are to eat more animal's liver, and milk, walnuts, etc. Also i know carrots are good for eyesight. Kindly check your sitting position, and wish you take care of your eyes.

Any fruit or vegetable that is high in Vitamin A and Betacarotine are good for they eyes. The idea of carrots being extra good for the eyes is a myth started by the British air military during WWII to keep the enemy from finding out about Airborne interception radar, a new system that pinpointed some enemy bomber before they reached England. Mega doses of Vitamin A can be toxic. Too many carrots can turn the skin yellow or orange. By all means eat some but don't over do it. Some time the retina has a wrinkle in it or it is shaped like a football and nothing can correct it but glasses.

I don't think carrots do anymore for the eyesight than any other fruit or vegetable. But I think eye exercises help. There are books that teach what to do.

I don't know if eating carrots can necessarily "cure" vision problems. I think if they are eaten regularly, it may help prevent them from getting worse. I've read that there are certain video games that can help improve your eyesight. Have you tried asking your eye doctor? They might have some suggestions for you. I have terrible eyesight, so I can relate.

What i know is that carrots are rich in Vit.A and Betacarotine. It is also rich anti oxidant. When i was in gradeschool, my teacher taught us that vegetables are good for one's health. And that carrot helps us to have a good eyesight. I never disobeyed also what my mom taught me that's why, i like to eat raw carrots. And till now, i don't wear eyeglasses, thanked God for that of course.
