Vicks Vapo-Rub Works For Your Nose and Your TOES!

For many years I was embarrassed to wear sandals or to have anyone see my bare feet because I have the world's ugliest feet to begin with and I had disgusting toenail fungus besides! I tried various over-the-counter remedies but nothing helped and there was no way I was going to take that prescription medication that supposedly makes you have pretty toes but one of the side effects is liver failure! It wasn't exactly my goal to make my toenails look better so I could wear sandals in my coffin...lol! Anyway, my mom had a podiatrist come to the house every few months to cut her toenails and he told us one day what the best thing is for toenail fungus and I couldn't believe it because I have it on hand at all times for my nose due to my allergies - Vicks Vapo-Rub! I was a bit skeptical at first but I tried it anyway and was amazed to see after only a few days that my toes indeed did look better. It took awhile for them to grow all the way out healthy but I finally got there. Now I'll sometimes get out of the habit of putting it on every night when I go to bed so I'll see them start getting gross looking again, so I start doing it again! Did you know this amazing secret? Do you have any other surprising "miracle cures" you'd like to share with us? Annie

I had never heard of that one. I will have to try it. It is good for joints aching too. I used it on my knees when I was on concrete all day. Nothing else worked. It felt better after a few days.

Annie, A cure for pink eye, regular Neosporin(spelling). You have very hot water to dip the tip in and never use that Neo for anything else but it works well. Ainge

Thank you very much, Ainge. I'll definitely make a note of that because my granddaughter just had pink eye not too long ago and my daughter took her to the doctor's and got a prescription, which as you probably can imagine, wasn't cheap. Annie

It sure is amazing. I have no idea what ingredient is in Vicks that makes it work but it works, that's all I know! Annie

A great treatment for dandruff is to wash your hair and before you dry it apply a mixture of 50% mouthwash and 50% witch hazel. Then just dry. Don't rinse it out. It works bette than any dandruff shampoo.

just want to share cough & vicks vaporub that i used & proven effective is treating night time cough in children ( or adult as I found out). Just put vicks vaporub generously on the bottom of the feet at bedtime then cover with socks. even persistent, heavy, deep coughing will stop in about 5 minutes. and stay stopped for many many hours of relief...

I am going to buy some Vapo-rub today and see if it helps I have fungus on one toe nail and have tried all kind of cures including soaking my toe in Listerine nothing worked. My podiatrist wants me to have it removed but I have researched that and decided against it.

I should have mentioned it's fine to get the less expensive store brand. Right now I'm using the CVS brand and there isn't a bit of difference. I don't blame you for not wanting to have it removed, that has a big risk of infection I've heard and the toes are pretty hard to keep perfectly clean and to keep from stubbing all the time. Annie

My daughter cleared up a lot of the acne on her face by washing her face with crushed aspirins. The salicylic acid in them was much stronger than in any of the solutions she'd tried, plus they had an exfoliating effect. However, overuse can prematurely age the skin, so it's best they're only used short term. She keeps some on hand for outbreaks, but once she got the acne under control, other OTC meds have worked to keep new outbreaks away. Also, she stopped consuming dairy products which helped the rest of the acne she had on her back clear up. If she gives in and eats milk products for a few days, she starts to break out again.

Thank you for an excellent tip! I've already heard of using crushed aspirin on a cold sore and that works. Annie

Hey annie! Are you serious? I have a toe fungus that is so serious that it hurts my toe so bad because the nail grows so thick and I usually have to have the whole nail taken off by the podiatrist and then it grows back and sometimes has to be surgically removed again! So you are saying that Vicks Vapo-Rub actually helps toe fungus? Right now I have been putting off going to get the nail surgically removed again because I usually have it done in the summer so I can wear sandels. I can't wear a closed shoe after I have it done and I never had to have it done in the winter but I am in so much pain!
