I almost did.It happened one early morning when my family and I were going on a trip.I went back to our unit to get something so I told them to meet me in front of the building.I didn't notice that there were two cars of the same make and color parked.I guessed I wasn't fully awake yet.I was about to open the door when I noticed that it was the wrong one.I apologized to the driver around 3 to 4 times then walked towards our car. When I got inside our car,my husband and daughter were both laughing so hard.I couldn't stop laughing either. It's such an embarrassing moment and a funny one at that.
Have you been in a similar situation?I'd love to hear yours...
Thanks.

I have never actually gotten in the wrong car but I spent a few minutes trying to open one that wasn't mine. The key went in but wouldn't turn. I think I tried both doors and was getting pretty angry about the whole thing. Finally I started actually looking at what was in the car and I realized none of that junk was mine. I was one row over.

haha, dear,i did many times of such similar situation.
First, about the bike,i just take the key and insert to the bike lock. And it's open. When i'm going to ride it,i find that it's not mines.Just the similar bike. But if they two looks almost the same.I'm very stange at that moment ,why the key can open it.
Second, about the classroom, when i'm still at school, one time i went into a wrong classroom,at the time i open the door,i want to sit down at my position, but find there is a stranger sitting, and his deskmate i do not know either. Then i look aroung the whole class. It's too embarassed, all the class are looking at me,and they are all strangers to me.Then i rushed quickly out of the classroom
The last one,is about the house.I now live in the third floor .One day i was off duty from my company, and take the key out in front of the door to open it.But it can't ,i felt strange, why it can't open the door ? Then a girl open the door ask me who i wanted to visit ? I suddenly found that i was in the second floor. And apologized to her at once.

Hi Nancy.
That classroom scenario of yours happened to me too when I was in grade school. It was a good thing that it was still early and there were only a few students in the classroom when it happened.LOL
Thanks for sharing.

I haven't gotten in but like others I have often spent time trying to open cars that aren't mine until I notice that hte junk inside is different. I am one of those people that constantly walk around busy parking lots trying to figure out just where I left my car. I also own a fairly popular make, model, and color so some days it can be a real challenge.

Yeah,it could really be a challenge at times especially in basement parking lots.

This reminds me of an incident many years back. I was short-sighted and being vain, didn't want to wear specs. I was waiting for my boyfriend's car; so when the car came, I went up and began to open the door. I was wondering why the door was locked and I kept pulling at the door. I finally looked into the window and saw the driver pointing. OMG - wrong car - the guy was pointing to his girlfriend who was standing quietly behind me. I was really embarrassed and I saw my boyfriend who was waiting in his car behind this car - laughing away!

My boyfriend tends to get into the wrong car a lot! When we were driving through Australia in hired cars he wanted to step into the wrong car a few times. And on the wrong side (I did that a lot too). But the most astonishing story (but true!) is that my boyfriend got into the wrong car, which looked almost the same as his own car and he even drove this car to his house! There he saw it was the wrong car and he could not believe his eyes! He drove back quickly and there was his own car... It seemed these cars had the same key. His car was a very old, small and cheap car, so maybe that's why. But it was pretty weird!

Oh,that's a surprise...having the same key.You're right,it's pretty weird...It's a good thing he didn't get in trouble.
Have a great day!

I don't know that I've ever gotten into the wrong car. Although, I've almost gotten into someone else's vehicle when I was at work. There's another driver at my job that has the same kind of vehicle. It can definitely be interesting.

Yes I have tried entering a wrong vehicle once. It was a bus to be specific. That was when I and my ex-friend who is now my husband went to Baguio City, Philippines last 2007. The bus is in a stop over together with the other bus of the same company and then I hurriedly run inside the bus after going to the bathroom. When I looked for the seat where our things were left I noticed that I was in the wrong bus! I really felt embarassed so what I did is I went down and looked for the bus I should be hopping in. When I reach the seat i told the story to my husband and he laughed at me. I think my face became red when I was on the wrong bus but I just kept in mind that the passengers in that bus won't remember me anymore. That is the first and last experience I got and I promised to be extra careful next time so that I won't be riding the wrong bus again. I should always be looking for the bus number beside the huge vehicle.

No. I have walked toward the wrong car but I have never gotten in the wrong car. I think it would be kind of funny if I did.
