I think there are pros and cons to both. I feel whichever option makes the mom the most comfortable is the best option for her. If she is happy, and comfortable with who she is, that is going to be reflected onto her children in a positive way.
I've been on both sides of the equation. I'm comfortalbe being at home. I also work from home now. I'm teaching my children about responsibity. There's work time and play time. When I worked outside the home, my children learned that when I leave, I will be back. They've learned independence, too.

I do tend to put in extra hours in the evenings after the kids go to bed. Not always, but it does happen. It's much easier when my older son (6) is in school to get work done. My 3 year old is a perfect angel for me during the day. When the other one gets home, all hell breaks loose. LOL

I'm a home mommy. I love to be able to see my kids learn their first things. I babysit a little boy and he sees me more than his mom. He calls me mommie...eek! He's a cutie! Anyway, I prefer to stay at home. That way I know what my kids are being exposed to. I've just heard to many bad stories about daycares. If I were to return to work, I'd like to find someone I knew from my church to watch my children.
