It is said that there are lots of benefits from a cup of green tea.Though derived from the Chinese culture, many westerners are now also taking this kind of tea. One good benefit is it helps us fight cancer and it is one good source of antioxidants. But to women, it also helps in losing weight. To those women who are into dieting or losing weight programs..do you also include a cup of green tea to your diet plans? How should be the proper intake of it?

i'm not sure why this tea would help only women lose weight...it works for everyone. however, using green tea alone for weight loss isn't enough to see major changes. you might have a similar effect drinking the same amount of water. combining it with proper diet and exercise CAN help though. it flushes the system of free radicals (toxins) and avoids water retention. there is however, a recent study that the caffeine (though much lower than carbonated drinks or coffee) may block other nutrients that are essential to the body. so having too many cups of tea a day would have a negative effect, and it may also break down tooth enamel. personally, i don't drink more than 2 pots of tea a day. and i don't drink that much EVERY day. in general, i might have 2-3 cups every couple of days. be careful not to overbrew or 'burn' your tea with too-hot water. this ruins the whole effect of its healing properties. unlike black tea, which can be prepared with boiling water, green tea preparation usually ranges between 75 degrees and 85 degrees depending what type it is. make sure to never use boiling water (90 degrees or more) when brewing your green tea.

Green tea is supposed to increase metabolism which could result in weight loss. While it does have some health benefits, green tea does contain caffeine, the same as regular tea and this should be kept in mind.

I personally use green tea everyday. Although the product I use is designed for weight loss and has a lot more nutrients and a combination of other natural herbs than most commercial green tea products have. The product is called Herbal Concentrate and has been designed by physicians and nobel prize winning scientist at The UCLA Center of Cellular Nutrition. I drink 20oz three times a day, with meals, and four 20oz glasses of water through out the day, to flush out the left over toxins from dieting. Green tea aids in metabolism (another term for fat burning), digestion and appetite suppressant while increasing energy. Although I do not recomend that you drink green tea as a meal replacement or believe that you should attempt or think that you can lose weight on tea alone. The body needs a certain amount of daily nutrients and vitamins intake to keep balance on a cellular level to boost our metabolism that we all need to keep our weight at a healthy state. This seems to be the problem with most diets. Most diets do not provide a healthy balance, increasing the chance of illness through poor nutrition and also causing negative results in some cases. So as a personal wellness coach and a CMA I recommend trying it for yourself and see the diffrence that green tea could make in your diet plans. For more information about the product that I mention I invite you to visit my website or contact me. I would love to share with you my personal story about weight loss
