Sometimes I feel I should send more requests for new friends. But due to lack of time I have not done it since long. Today I'll send request for more friends here because new friends would mean new view points, new and perhaps more interesting discussions and responses.
Do you feel the need too? How often do you send requests?

Do we have to know people before sending request? How do we do that? At the most I go through their profile and read a few discussions started by them. You accept everybody as yourfriend now. So here's one request from me too.

To be honest, I very rarely send out friend requests. The only time I generally do it is if I have noticed someone that I've been interacting with a lot is not on my list yet. 95% of the friends I have are there because they requested me and not the other way around. I know that sounds bad on my part, but it is what it is and there's certainly no intended malice from me in regards to it. I just don't seem to be in the habit of making requests and never have.

I have no idea exactly why to be honest! lol. Maybe it's because I cross paths with a number of people regularly anyways and even do so with people that have never been on my friends list at all. And in parallel, other people's own habits of making requests compensate for my own laziness in this area!

You come across as a warm and cheerful person anyone would feel welcome to befriend. No wonder you never have any dearth of such requests. Plus your active participation keeps you in the limelight here.
It doesn't sound bad James! The question of malice doesn't arise in your context. Your prompt reply to each and every responder is a gesture which speaks volumes of your friendly nature. The effort is very appreciated too.
But I'm kind of curious now. Why don't you seem to be in the habit of making requests and never have? My dear friend!

I haven't since around the time I first started out here which was a year ago. I get more friend requests than I send out. It's kind of different when you don't remember replying to their discussions or vice-versa and you get a friend request.

Hi daffodil! I send friend requests once in awhile when I see
someone in a discussion who comments on something that I have
said that interests me sometimes. Most of the time I get
friend requests from people that I have no idea how they could
even possibly know me. I think that they must see me in a
discussion of someone elses and then they ask me to be their
friend too. That's how lately I have been getting so many
new friend requests of people I have never seen before.

HI daffodil20. I send friend request a lot just recently. I started to get bored with some of the discussions that I shifted to finding discussions at my interests section. I add people I responded to and who respond to my discussions. I agree with you, more friends means more interactions, more ideas and more earnings then. Happy mylotting!

It seems most new comers send requests and us old members hardly do it. So I thought it otherwise and sent some requests yesterday and they have accepted and added me. So nice of them. Isn't it? Thanks nchap for responding here.
